Find Cheap Car Insurance and Discounts
Let’s be honest. All of us love to get discounts, whenever possible. However they are not always easy to come by. Fortunately discounts on automobile insurance are more common than most people think. There are dozens of discounts available, but chances are that your agent will only tell you about a few of the more popular ones. The others will likely remain unbeknownst to you, unless you ask about them. Here’s a list of some of the discounts offered by most insurance providers.
-Multi-vehicle discount: This type of discount can save consumers money by insuring more than one of their vehicles with the same insurance provider. This is one of the most common types of discounts, so it’s likely that your agent will discuss this option with you.
-Multi-policy discount: Offered to consumers who bundles other policies such as home, life, auto, etc. together with the same provider.
-Good driver discount: A good driver discount rewards drivers for safe driving. Typically drivers are not eligible for this discount until they have gone 3 years without any incidents.
-Good student discount: Students, especially those under the age of 25, often pay the highest insurance premiums out there. This is largely because drivers from 16 – 25 have the most accidents of any other age group. For students who maintain a “B” average in school (essentially a 3.0 GPA), most insurance providers offer very reasonable discounts on their car insurance.
-Defensive driving discount: This discount is offered to any individual who undergoes a defensive driving course. These courses generally only take a weekend of your time, as well as $25 or $50. The savings provided by your insurance company can greatly outweigh the cost of the course.
-Safety feature installation: Installing safety features or security devices on your vehicle is guaranteed to lower your premium monthly payment. Some examples are installing an alarm system on an older car, or antilock brakes.
-Full payment discount: Financially it may be hard for many of us to do, but most insurance providers offer a discount for paying your yearly premium in full, up front, as opposed to in monthly payments.
