2010 Buick LaCrosse Rolls Out a 4-Cylinder, 30-MPG 4-Door Sedan
11:54 a.m. EDT, June 23, 2009

Hoping to offer a more fuel efficient choice in its flagship luxury sedan for 2010, Buick predicts that about 25 percent of new LaCrosse buyers will opt for the 182-horsepower 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine. With the best fuel economy rating in its segment, the new LaCrosse gets 20-mpg city and 30-mpg highway.

Along with its two 6-cylinder siblings, the 4-cylinder comes with direct injection and a six speed automatic transmission to increase its efficiency. Engineered for quiet and smooth performance the LaCrosse comes with all-wheel drive, numerous low maintenance systems, and GM's Oil Life system for fewer required oil changes.

At a base price of $27,085, the luxury sedan will offer a compliment of personal conveniences and safety features including: power windows and mirrors, power driver's seat, and infrared entry. With its modern design and vestiges of its noble heritage, the LaCrosse is expected to challenge Lincoln MKZ and Acura TL by being the only one offering a 4-cylinder engine.
