As the auto industry works to reinvent itself, Ford has upped the ante with the debut of its newest offering:, the 2011 Super Duty truck, a vehicle aimed at drivers who need a vehicle that can literally handle heavy lifting.

The 2011 Ford Super Duty has been designed with work in mind, carrying heavy loads and dragging trailers. Now available with a 6.7--liter Power Stroke V8 turbocharged diesel (and a new 6.2-liter V8), the model will deliver more torque and horse power with better fuel efficiency, but it's a stretch to call a truck this big "green." (A six-speed automatic can be paired with either engine.)

The marketing chief for Ford's U.S. operations, Mark Fields, said, "Our Super Duty customers do some of America's toughest jobs. Every day they're out there working with little fanfare and all they ask is the right tool for the job. The new 2011 Super Duty offers them a truck with best-in-class towing and payload, all-new powertrains and even more capability than ever to help them do their jobs."

The 6.7-liter diesel brings overall weight down thanks to a graphite-iron engine block and it can burn 20% biodiesel mixed fuels.

Other attractive features for drivers in this class include the PTO prep option that will allow the transmission to power auxiliary equipment like tow truck lifts, snowplows, dump trucks, and cement mixers. Additionally Trailer Sway Control has been integrated with AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control.

These and other features make the 2011 a standout for controllability whether loaded or unloaded. Among other venues, the 2011 will be on display at the State Fair of Texas held annually in Dallas.
