2010 Acura RDX Review

The 2010 Acura RDX has been designed and manufactured for those who truly appreciate an exhilarating driving experience. It is a turbocharged, firmly-suspended premium-level crossover SUV - and it loves to travel confidently through twists and turns on all terrains. It is available with the Acura Super-Handling All Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD) that directs more power to the rear wheel situated to the outside of given corners. In this way, the vehicle remains balanced and equalized, even in the hardest of cornering situations. FWD models still perform excellently, cost about $2000 less and demonstrate an increase in fuel efficiency of about 2 miles per gallon.

Loads of standard safety and luxury features are presented on the 2010 RDX from Acura. Equipment including an all leather interior, 2-zoned controls for climate, heated front seats, a powered moonroof, XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth/USB connectivity and standard voice-activated navigation make the cabin a sheer pleasure to occupy. Other creature features like a rear view mirror that displays rear camera images add to the appeal. Ride quality, even when not twisting into a sharp corner, is very pleasing. With upscale amenities abounding everywhere, this quiet, spunky SUV accommodates all passengers optimally.

The base level Acura RDX for 2010 is suggested to retail at $32,250 while the RDX SH-AWD enters the range at $34,250. The Lexus RX 350, Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, BMW X3 and the Infiniti EX35 provide the primary competition for the RDX, but it's a tough one to beat. It features a 2.3L DOHC inline four-cylinder engine that generates 240 horses at 6000 RPM and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4500 RPM. It is joined to a SportShift 5-speed manual paddle-shifting transmission with overdrive. Both trim levels feature an 870-pound payload capacity and a 1500-pound maximum towing rating. 19.6 feet is the required turning radius measurement.

EPA estimations for fuel economy concerning the 2010 Acura RDX are reported at 19/24 city/highway for FWD models and 17/22 city/highway for AWD models. An 18-gallon fuel tank will only need filled once every 350 miles or so. Not bad considering that this is an upper-end SUV crossover that provides loads of spacious comfort. It's safe too. Standard safety features include a theft deterrent radio, and engine disabling system, powered 2-staged door locks, remote keyless entry, a panic alarm, occupancy sensors and tire pressure monitoring. A nice assortment of airbags is also featured for both front and rear passengers. With a safety feature list like that, automobile insurance becomes much more affordable. Never underestimate the sheer excitement - and value - you can gain from driving a new Acura RDX.
