2009 Audi TT Roadster Review

The 2009 Audi TT Roadster is a bigger and better sports car than Audi has ever released - it may be the coolest car on the planet. In 2008, the TT Roadster was completely redesigned and the 2009 model is a direct carryover. The TT is a sizable car that has been designed to handle excellently and provide its occupants plenty of luxurious comfort. This new Audi pleases all types - from serious car enthusiasts right down to casual weekend cruisers.

Responsive steering and crisp handling mark the 2009 TT, especially when equipped with its standard 17-inch wheels. When the 18 and 19-inch wheels are opted for, the ride gets a little bumpy though. High-quality, soft materials abound in the interior and all gaps are tight-fitting - almost invisible. It is one of the roomiest cars in its class and is a definite blast to drive.

Two engine choices are available: a 2.0L 200hp turbocharged 4-cylinder and a 3.2L 250hp V6. Both yield impressive performance and the 2.0T is great on gas rating at 22/29 mpg city/highway. Buyers can also choose between front wheel-drive and Quattro all wheel-drive powertrains. In comparison, the Quattro AWD 3.2L has fuel efficiency ratings of 17/24 mpg - still not that bad for all that power. Additionally, the 2.0T delivers 207 lb-ft of torque at 3400 rpm while the 3.2L pumps out 236 lb-ft at 2700 rpm.

A very innovative optional feature is a $900 power top that can be operated at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. A $1950 navigational system with iPod interface is also a popular seller. Heated seating and Bluetooth cell phone connectivity are also available for $450 each - also popular sellers.

The 2009 TT Roadster from Audi is designed for safety and features front, side-mounted and front knee airbags; ABS braking with electronically-powered brake force distribution; brake assist; electronic traction and stability control, electronic anti-skid control; head restraints; monitors for tire pressure and a behind-seat rollover bar - all standard. There is also a $350 option for a rear obstacle detection system.

with all Audis, the standard warranty comprehensively covers you for 48 months or 50,000 miles and your first scheduled maintenance trip is 100% free. The TT Roadster was first introduced in 2001 and was never projected to be a huge seller. Instead, it was released to make other sports car manufacturers feel the Audi presence throughout the sector - a plan that has proven very effective. The TT has given Audi new respect as more than just one of the planet's safest vehicle manufacturers - it is now also considered one of the hippest, sportiest in existence as well.

The 2009 Audi TT Roadster is seriously one of the sleekest and freshest-looking sports cars on the planet. It shines with engineering superiority and exaggerated levels of class and style. MSRPs range from $35,200 - $45,140, comparable to the BMW 3 Series, making the TT even sweeter to consider. Definitely short list this awesome Audi and explore it further. It may just be the world's hippest sports car.
