2009 BMW 7 Series Review

The 2009 BMW 7-Series will feature two trims: the 750i and the 750Li. MSRPs range from $80,300 up to $84,200. These 5th generation BMWs have been stylistically freshened, received power upgrades and have a newly designed version of the BMW iDrive system. The "L" in 750Li signifies an increased vehicle length: 5.5 inches in wheelbase specifically when compared to the 750i.

Both trims feature the same stock engine: a turbocharged 4.4L 400hp V8 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. An interesting feature allows the shifter to move from its steering column mount down to the floor space. Safety features are impressive and include standard ABS braking, electronic stability and traction control systems, anti-skid systems and a slew of airbags. Of course, techies will be pleased with the state-of-the-art navigational system and the wireless mobile phone linking mechanism.

Headlights are steering linked to accentuate the visual efficiency presented by the front and rear obstacle detection systems. Throttle response, suspension characteristics, power steering and transmission shifting patterns are able to be controlled by the driver with the BMW Dynamic Driving Control system - another standard feature.

The 2009 BMW Active Roll Stabilization system effectively counteracts body leans even in the tightest of corners. The new Integral Active Steering feature adds in rear-wheel steering with speed-sensitive control. Both of these features are elements of the optional Sport Package.

There are several other fresh new features as well. Headlights that automatically dim when oncoming traffic is detected, both sideview and rearview cameras, audible blind spot alerts and lane departure alerts are all included to make your driving experience more automated and safe.

The combination navigation/audio system comes stock with 40 massive gigabytes of storage in its hard drive - 13 gigs of which are reserved for your favorite musical selections. Satellite radio and MP3 connectivity are additionally available. The 2009 7-Series from BMW wants you to have all the modern technology that you desire. There is also a night vision system that is selling very well for the company.

Other popular features for the BMW 7-Series for 2009 include adaptive cruise control, remote keyless engine start/vehicle access and DVD entertainment options. The 750i and 750Li are premium large cars that offer the finest in luxury and spaciousness. You can be assured that the 7-Series has all of the bells and whistles that you desire in place. Material quality is excellent and the entire cabin area comes together in seamless grace.

Competition for the 2009 BMW 7-Series comes from the Audi A8, the Cadillac DTS, the Lexus LS and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. BMW engineers have spared no effort attempting to outshine all of them. Get to know the 750i and the 750Li and experience the epitome of automotive luxury and genius.
