The latest news from Cadillac hints of a slight makeover for the 2009 Cadillac DTS full-size luxury sedan, including new wheels, more color choices, a 6-speed automatic transmission and the 3.6L direct-injected HF V6 either as an option or a total replacement to the Northstar V8.
The DTS and the STS are both currently front wheel drive Cadillacs that are already scheduled to soon be replaced by a singular rear wheel drive alternative. The company, in the meantime, wants to keep these models fresh and selling well while their replacement is being developed. The DTS has and continues to be marketed primarily to the younger generations. Cadillac doesn't want to destroy the momentum that they have developed for this popular seller.
The Cadillac DTS reminds drivers of what made the company famous in the first place: roomy, luxurious, strong, stylish vehicles that catch the eye. Comfortable and spacious, the Cadillac DTS is a top choice amongst the upper-middle class who desire a driving experience based on dependability, reputation and elegance. The DTS has a 115.6 inch wheelbase that makes a lot of full-sized sedans look and feel small.
The current V8 engine on the 2008 DTS pumps out 275 horsepower performance in smooth-riding fashion and gets you where you need to be in a hurry. With restrained styling for a Cadillac, the DTS already offers a load of technological features for safety and convenience and the 2009 model only promises more of the same. From engine to interior, the 2009 DTS promises to be user friendly and always take care of its drivers.
The handling of the DTS is regularly reported to be "crisp" and responsive. It's almost like the car knows what you desire and automatically helps you to achieve it. Dignified, poised performance is the standard for the Cadillac DTS and the 2009 model is sure to continue this heritage. Even the twistiest of roads are tamed with smooth grace as you cruise both the cities and the countrysides.
A popular carryover from 2008 Cadillac DTS, the Lane Departure Warning System will, of course, remain intact on the 2009 DTS. If you happen to fall asleep at the wheel in luxurious comfort, your DTS will be watching the lane markers for you and give you a mind-flaring alert to possibly save your life if you veer. Similarly, the revolutionary Snow Blind Alert allows you to see where you really cannot in times of winterized weather emergencies. These are not just bells and whistles; they are true lifesavers many times over.
The 2009 DTS is a Cadillac and you can be assured that every luxury option that you can think of - and several that you have never thought of - are intact and waiting to make your every trip more luxurious and safe. You can trust your 2009 Cadillac DTS to deliver everything and more that you purchase a Cadillac for.
