2010 Cadillac CTS Review

With suggested retail pricing ranging between 35 and 60 thousand dollars, the 2010 Cadillac CTS competes with the Buick Lucerne, Chrysler 300, Lincoln MKZ and the Lexus HS 250h. It's a luxurious rear wheel driven 4-door sedan - and it's fast. Cadillac reports that, when equipped with the its 556hp 551 lb-ft supercharged 6.2L V8, the new CTS-V will travel up to 191 miles an hour and bust out 0 to 60's and 3.9 seconds flat. Similar to luxurious European sports sedans, it delivers firm, very responsive ride quality.

The Cadillac CTS for 2010 has been listed in Car and Driver's 10 Best for the last 3 years straight. It's taking Cadillac into the automobile future by combining over 100 years of trendsetting design experience. For the first time ever, the CTS is available as a Sport Wagon featuring nearly twice as much luggage capacity, and more than 4 times as much maximum cargo capacity as sedan versions. 20 trims are available, and all boast serious levels of technology, style and performance. It can tear up tracks and cruise in optimal style with the best in the world including the Infiniti G37, Audi A4, BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class (not to mention it costs a lot less).

Quiet, smooth and excellently stable at high speeds, the 2010 CTS from Cadillac rewards drivers with accurate steering, very comfortable spaciousness, high-quality materials and every imaginable bell and whistle that you could wish for. Even stripped-down, base CTS models are quite amazing. It confidently shows off its sophisticated system for suspension one that was developed on the toughest, most deadly race track on the planet: the Nordschleife in Nurburging, Germany. It features an all-new base 3.0L 270hp 223 lb-ft V6 with 100% aluminum construction and dual overhead cams. Direct fuel injection and variable valve timing help it to deliver a very impressive 18/27 mpg urban/rural. The new Cadillac CTS also features an optional 3.6L 304hp 273 lb-ft V6. A 6-speed manual gearbox comes standard automatic optional.

Other standard and optional features of the 2010 CTS include:

  • 19 inch polished alloy wheels;
  • Air filtration;
  • All wheel drive with 40/60 active transfer;
  • Limited slip differential;
  • 18 gallon fuel tank;
  • And every conceivable option for comfort, safety and technology;

The 2010 Cadillac CTS measures 191.6 x 72.5 x 59.1 inches (l, w, h) and rides on a 113.4-inch wheelbase. Its hefty 3861-pound curb weight give it solidity and balance. Gross vehicular weight is 5247 pounds. Front passengers are also treated to 39 inches of headroom, 57 inches of shoulder room, 55 inches of hip room and a nice 42.4 inches of legroom. The CTS can tow up to 1000 pounds. Do yourself a favor and test drive a new CTS today - that is, if you like loads of combined performance, style, comfort, safety - and attractive price points.
