2010 Cadillac STS Review
The luxurious, smooth and powerful 2010 Cadillac STS displays suggested retail pricing between $46,845 and $80,590. It's a full-sized 4-door family sedan that debuted in 2005 when it replaced the Seville. It competes today with front luxury runners like the Acura RL, the Infiniti M37 and the Jaguar XF. You can be assured of the most modern technological features as well as high levels of efficient power, standard safety features, optimal comfort and very confident handling. The 2010 STS has been honed to near perfection and will carry over into 2011 majorly unchanged.
The 3.6L DOHC V6 engine of the new Cadillac STS features direct fuel injection and cranks out 302 horses at 6300 RPM. It features electronically controlled variable valve timing and 4 valves per cylinder. The STS is available as either a rear wheel-driven or all wheel-driven vehicle, either choice controlled by a 6-speed automatic transmission that helps to generate 272 lb-ft of twist at 5200 RPM. The STS is also optionally available with a 4.6L 320-horse Northstar V8 for those that enjoy optimal speed and performance. The list of other standard equipment includes 2-zone automatic climate control, Stabilitrak electronic stability control, OnStar Telematics and rear parking assist. Five trims are available; three with rear wheel drive and two with all wheel drive.
North Americans are excited about how powerfully the 2010 Cadillac STS challenges Asian and German automotive technology innovators. Loads of quality are evident everywhere and a truly pleasing list of driving attributes is included. In fact, high-end imports really have nothing on the STS. Standard safety features for the STS 2010 include:
- 3-month free trial to all OnStar features including Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Crisis Assist, Stolen Vehicle Slowdown, Remote Ignition Block, Remote Door Unlock, Roadside Assistance, Remote Horn In Lights, Vehicle Diagnostics, Turn-by-Turn Navigation and the OnStar Low Mileage Discount;
- Stabilitrak electronic stability control system;
- Electronic traction control;
- 4-wheel ABS;
- Theft deterrent system;
- Rear Door Child Security Lockout;
- Remote keyless entry;
- Fog lights;
- Many more...
Length, width and height measurements of the 2010 Cadillac STS are 196.7, 72.6 and 57.6 inches respectively. Its long wheelbase measures 116.4 inches and supports its 3973 pound base curb weight. 39 inches of headroom, 59 inches of shoulder room, 55 inches of hip room and 42.6 inches of leg room abound for front passengers. Even rear passengers are treated to an abundant 38.3 inches of legroom. Maximum cargo capacity is 13.8 cubic feet and standard seating is for five. The STS requires an 18.5 foot turning radius and features a 17.0 gallon fuel tank. With EPA estimations of 18/27 mpg city/highway, it will allow you to travel over 400 miles on a single tank. Further exploration is a no-brainer.
