The braking system features large Brembo brakes accentuated by both electronic stability and traction control systems. Ten-spoke alloy wheels are large, custom measuring 18 x 8.5 inches in the front and 19 x 9.5 inches in the rear.

A quickened steering ratio, stiffened suspension and Pirelli tires are in place to assist the STS-V in outperforming the standard STS. The engine block and heads are aluminum while the crankshaft is crafted from forged steel and the camshaft is cast from iron. The STS-V of 2009 gets only 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The displacement is 4371 cc (266 cubic inches) and the compression ratio is set at 9.0:1. In other words, prepare to be pinned to your seat if you have a lead foot.

The grille, which is of meshed wire, is the primary visual difference in exterior appearance between the STS-V and the stock STS. The price has seen an increase of roughly $1000 per year since 2006.

In 2010, the STS-V, and the regular STS models will be discontinued. Throughout the entire lifespan of the car, very few changes have been made. Its appeal today is the same as it has been - sporty, luxurious, fast and showy.
