2007 Chevrolet Impala Review

The 2007 Chevrolet Impala, a full-size sedan, starts at $21,630 and progresses to $28,655 through the LT, LTZ, and SS models. The LS and 1LT and 2LT are powered by a 3.5 liter V6 with variable valve timing (gasoline and E85 compatible.) The 3LT and LTZ jump to a 3.9 liter V6 while the SS has a 5.3 liter V8.

All models protect the driver and front passenger with two-stage airbags as well as those in the "curtain" position designed to shield occupants from side collisions. Standard features across the Impala line include cruise control, defoggers on the rear window, door locks that are both automatic and programmable, OnStar, the industry standard LATCH system for securing child safety seats, entry via a remote, and anti-theft measures deployed by the PASS-Key III system. (Starting with the 1LT all the Impalas also allow the vehicle to be started via the remote.)

The 2007 Cherolet Impala LS and 1LT have a CD player with the remaining models carrying CD/MP3 combos. The LTZ has a Bose sound system, a feature that can be added on the LTs and SS but is unavailable for the LS. All models except the LTZ have six-speakers but only the LTZ has XM Satellite Radio standard. (XM is an option on all models except the LS.)
