2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Review

The 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer continues the fine Chevy tradition of delivering powerful, tough and dependable trucks. This truck outshines every other vehicle in its class including Toyota Land Cruiser in all areas except for having slightly less passenger capacity than the average (113.4 cubic feet vs. the 122.17 cubit feet average). It makes up for that several times over though. One of the most outstanding features to prove it is the nearly $6000 smaller price tag than the others ($27,405 vs. $33,403 average MSRP).?

Gas mileage is rightfully a top consideration on the mind of every person shopping for a new vehicle today. The Trailblazer gets and average on 16.0 mpg in the city as compared to 15.23 city mpg for the other vehicles in its class. And just like the commercials say, its towing capacity rules over the competition demonstrating the ability to tow 6800 lbs as compared to the competition's 5112.67 average. That is significant if you use your trucks for anything more than pleasure cruising.

There are 10 different trims to consider as well. They are divided among 3 categories: All-Wheel Drive, 4-Wheel Drive and Rear-Wheel Drive. The All-Wheel Drive trims are labeled SS1AWD and SS3AWD. Both trims have a 6.0L 390 hp V8 engine with a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. They both come with standard air conditioning, power locks and windows, power seats, 4 doors and seating for 5 people. The only difference here is leather seats of the SS3AWD.

The 4-Wheel Drive trims (LT1FWD, LT2FWD and LT3FWD) vary similarly as far as bells and whistles. The difference here is the engine: a 4.2L 285 hp I6. The Rear-Wheel Drive trims come with the same 4.2L engine in the LT12WD, LT22WD and LT32WD trims. However, the SS12WD and SS22WD trims offer the 6.0L 390 hp V8 engine. All of the different trims come with the same transmission: the 4-speed overdrive automatic.

CD players are standard in all trims and cassette players are N/A. Does anyone still play cassettes anyway? Sunroofs are an option on all trims as well. Most of the trims have a factory-optional navigational system. The ones that don't have can always be fitted with a standard system from any retailer. The basic warranty on the 2008 Trailblazer is for 36 months or 36000 miles. The power train warranty will serve you for 60 months or 100,000 miles. All trims also come with a 72 month, 100,000 mile rust warranty standard.

With superior gas mileage, more power, classy style and Chevy-tough durability, the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer delivers what you want from your new truck. Consumer ratings are a high average 8.6 out of 10 for excellent performance. It isn't just Chevy lovers who love Chevys anymore.
