2010 Chevrolet Corvette Review
Many people agree that the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette presents the best value of any high-performance vehicle in the United States. It is a Supercar! With its low-growling engine, iconic reputation and still-unmatched exterior design coolness, the new base model Corvette delivers mind-blowing performance at a very similar price point to that of any midsized luxury sedan. In fact, other muscle cars are shakin' in their shoes.
Speaking of base model power, the 2010 Corvette by Chevrolet features a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine that cooks up 430 horses at 5900 RPM and spins 424 lb-ft of torque at 4600. If that's not enough to get you arrested often enough, step up to the Z06 trim to experience a 7.0L LS7 505hp V8 that's mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and features a very impressive sport-tuned suspension system. Not afraid of death? Try out the supercharged ZR1 6.2L V8/6-speed manual tranny powertrain combo that cranks out a hair-raising 638 horsepower - and Chevrolet's innovative Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension system is included. Step back!
The Corvette for 2010, as always, offers only two seats. Base models include targa-roofed coupes as well as convertible versions. The top-of-the-line Z06 and ZR1 trims are both hardtop coupes. Chevrolet recommends that dealers retail these vehicles for prices between $48,930 clear up to $106,880. Obviously, these dramatic price differences are representative of amazing powertrain configuration options. All manual transmission models are also equipped with the new Launch Control technology from Chevy. Chevrolet enters the competition arena very confidently to face off against the BMW Z4, Ford Shelby GT 500, Nissan 370 Z and the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.
Acceleration that will take your breath away, amazing gripping power, immediately responsive handling, stop-on-a-dime braking and overall awesomeness are just a few of the very pleasing attributes of the Chevy Corvette for 2010. There's absolutely nothing not to love about it. In fact, many experts around the globe state that the Corvette offers perspective purchasers the highest value of any high-performance vehicle on the planet. And Chevrolet has also thoughtfully planned out affordable maintenance costs to make daily driving completely feasible. Of course, when you are a Corvette, you never have to worry too much about the affects of economic slumps.
The 2010 Chevrolet Corvette will make you relish every second of your life spent in it - especially in convertible models, with the top dropped down, your favorite music playing - on an open country road. You can feel the power from the burbles of the beefy V8 even while sitting still idling. You will be confident. You will have no doubt that, if you needed to, you could blow the doors off of any other vehicle around you. And - you're still going to be getting an EPA-estimated 16/26 miles per gallon.
