2010 Chevrolet Equinox Review

With 2010 Chevrolet Equinox dealer financing loans between $21,206 and $28,156, it is an exceptional bargain, especially since it has been totally redesigned. Beginning its second generation, this crossover sports utility vehicle reminds one more of a traditional midsized SUV - at a price point of a small one. It also features various technologies and luxury amenities that most people do not expect. The size hasn't changed very much from the first generation Equinox, but both the exterior and interior styling has. It also features your choice of two new engines.

Eight trims at most 2010 Chevy Equinox dealers currently are: the LS, the LT, the LTZ and the 2LT - each available as either front wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles. Base engine specifications list an upgraded 2.4L 182hp 174 lb-ft direct injected I4 that delivers 22 mpg in the cities and 32 mpg on the highways. If you opt for the AWD configuration, that gas mileage will drop to 20/29 mpg. If you need more meat, opt for the 3.0L 264hp V6. However, most experts agree that the I4 is a superior choice. The differences in pricing and fuel economy as compared to the enhancements of performance simply don't seem to pan out.

The Chevrolet Equinox for 2010 is more like a car than ever before. It leans very little - even in tight turns. And although it is not overly sporty, it competes well with the likes of the 2010 Ford Edge, the Honda Pilot, the GMC Terrain and the Mazda CX-7. The Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 are also included. This new Equinox offers you a quiet and smooth ride with either choice of standard 17 inch or optional18 inch wheels. It absorbs pits and bumps quite efficiently and offers no disruption of occupant comfort levels.

The interior of the 2010 Chevy Equinox is quite attractive as well. Ambient lighting is blue in hue, the atmosphere is effectively managed by a 2-zoned automatic climate control system, a large capacity hard-drive stereo system is included and the rear entertainment system features a dual screen DVD player. Additionally, a powered liftgate is included in the rear as a standard feature. On the downside, the materials that abound in the interior present a feel and look of hardened plastic.

You can tow 1500 pounds behind the Chevrolet Equinox. And with an 1190 pound payload capacity rating, you're able to haul quite a lot of cargo, gear and more as well. The sloppy handling on last year's Equinox has been much improved as well. Comfortable seating in the front is adjustable up to 10 inches for accommodating a variety of different sized drivers and passengers. The cabin is roomy and allows all passengers to thrive in the spaces.

Overall, the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox presents you with a midsized crossover SUV option at a compact SUV price - and provides you with several unexpected amenities. The segment is loaded with competition so you will need to do some research. However, the Equinox is sure to be a serious competitor in its class.
