2010 Chevrolet Express Review

The 2010 Chevrolet Express 3500 commercial and passenger vans are available with your choice between 155 and 135-inch wheelbases. Manufacturer's suggested retail pricing begins at $29,095 and rises to $34,185 and right now, you can find excellent pricing and 0 percent financing options for last year's models too. That's definitely something to consider if you're not overly impressed by the fact that the previously-optional 6-speed automatic transmission is now a standard feature. The only other changes for 2010 are that both the 6.0L and 4.8L engines are now flex-fuel compatible and that Chevy now offers a remote engine starting system.

2010 Chevy Express 3500 vans are rear wheel-driven and feature a base Vortec 4.8L 280-horse 295 lb-ft E85 flex-fuel V8. Optionally, you can choose between a 6.0L 323hp 373 lb-ft Vortec V8 and a 6.6L Duramax Diesel. Passenger Express vans are available only as LS and LT trims and seat 12 adults comfortably even with the 135-inch wheelbase. Extended wheelbase versions accommodate up to 15. The Work Truck trim of the Express is the hauling version and seats only 2, but offers a maxed-out 252.6 cubic feet of cargo space. These utility masters can be modified to meet your needs for increased comfort and/or custom equipped to optimize your worktime efficiency levels.

The 3500 Express Chevrolet vans are excellent competitors for the Dodge Sprinter, Ford Econoline and the GMC Sierra. They are rugged, durable champions for what they are intended to do best: transport passengers and haul cargo. With overall dimensions of 224.1 x 79.4 inches in length and width, they feature a whopping 81.6 inches of height. Ground clearance ranges from 7.1 to 8.1 inches while curb weights range from seven 5453 pounds up to 6330 pounds. Gross vehicular weight for all trims have been reported at an almost-5 digit 9600 pounds.

You certainly won't be cramped for space as a front passenger in the 2010 Express from Chevy. In fact, you will be treated to 40 inches of headroom, 69 inches of shoulder room, 66 inches of hip room and 41.3 inches of legroom. And as you might expect, there's plenty of room for rear passengers as well. Payload capacities range from 3270 pounds up to 4147 pounds. And trim dependent, your new Express will be able to pull between 7100 and 7700 pounds behind it. These behemoths require between 24.3 and 27.3 feet of radius for turning. All models are equipped with a 31 gallon fuel tank and no EPA estimates for fuel economy have been reported.

The 2010 Chevrolet Express 3500 Passenger and Cargo vans do exactly what they are supposed to: allow you to transport, haul, tow and work like you need to. And since you're not overloaded with options in terms of competitors, make sure to test drive one. The Express offers massive spaciousness, style, safety and a surprising amount of optional features.
