2010 Chevrolet Suburban Review

2010 Chevrolet Suburban Review

Get comfortable inside the maximum spaciousness of the 2010 Chevrolet Suburban 1500! The Jeep Commander, Nissan Armada, Toyota Sequoia and the Ford Expedition have a difficult time matching the time-proven recipe of overall excellence delivered by the Suburban. The Suburban is now celebrating its 75th anniversary as the planet's first sport utility vehicle. Today's evolved version stays true to its roots, delivering loads of interior room, ultra-powerful towing capacity, excellent safety features and the distinctive Chevrolet reputation.

The 2010 Suburban by Chevrolet has once again earned double 5-star crash test safety ratings from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. That probably has a lot to do with the 20 standard safety features it offers including:

  • Six airbags;
  • OnStar Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Remote Door Unlock, Roadside Assistance, Vehicle Diagnostics, Hands Free Voice Activated Phone and Stolen Vehicle Assistance;
  • StabiliTrak electronic stability control;
  • Electronic traction control;
  • All-disc 4-wheel antilock braking;
  • Remote vehicle start;
  • And more...

Three trims of the Chevrolet Suburban 2010 are available: LS, LT and LTZ. Chevy suggests retail pricing between $40,635 and $55,625. Take advantage of very cool Chevy financing incentives available now. All trim levels are estimated by the EPA to deliver 15/21 mpg urban/rural and feature a 31-gallon fuel reservoir. The base engine is a 5.3L 325 cubic inch gasoline powered Vortec V8 with Sequential Fuel Injection that delivers 320 horsepower at 5400 RPM. A powerful 6-speed automatic/overdrive transmission joins in to ground out 335 ft-lb of torque at 4000 RPM. Coil spring front and rear suspension systems accommodate a 3.08 axle ratio. The big Chevy Suburban requires a 43-foot minimum turning circle. Additionally, a 160-amp alternator keeps the battery charged to provide 600 amps of cold cranking power.

Other notable features of the 2010 Chevy Suburban 1500 include:

  • E85 flex fuel capability;
  • Active Fuel Management technologies;
  • XM satellite radio with over 170 stations nationwide;
  • XM NavTraffic;
  • Bluetooth wireless connectivity;
  • Powered sunroof;
  • DVD entertainment system;
  • Seven, eight or nine-passenger seating configurations;
  • Standard USB ports;
  • And the list goes on and on...

People expect the 2010 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 to be a big unit, and it is. Exterior dimensions measure 222.4 x 79.1 x 76.8 inches in length, width and height. Its 130-inch wheelbase accommodates its 6016-pound curb weight in balanced fashion. Interior cargo volume is measured at 137.4 cubic feet and the new Suburban clears the ground by 10.5 inches in the front, 9.1 inches in the rear. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 8100 pounds. Other good news is the 5-year/100,000 mile Powertrain/Drivetrain warranty, coupled with Chevy's Roadside Assistance Program. Anyway you look at it, the Chevy Suburban is a champion. Climb inside of one today and feel its strength!
