This year's 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 adds the SXT trim as well as new 7 x 10 inch mirrors for trailer towing and a monitoring system of tire air pressure. There are 16 trims and 3 different cab styles to choose from (Mega, Quad and regular), making the Lincoln Mark LT green with envy, while offering the perfectly-customized truck for every Dodge enthusiast. There are also 2 separate wheel bases to select from and the option of either 2 or 4 wheel drive setups.
HEMI engines and heavy duty ratings come standard on all Mega Cab designs. On the Mega cabs, the bed is shortened to 6 feet 3 inches to accommodate the extra 20 inches of cab space. Seating for 6 and loads of head, shoulder and leg room are the results. If you have no real need for the elongated bed, the Mega cab-designed 2008 Dodge Rams may be just what you're after. You can comfortably transport 6 large athletes in them (or yourself and 10 cheerleaders). Even the rear seats recline!
The Mega cab trims are all about comfort and utility for all passengers. Most trucks and other vehicles seem to think that rear passengers aren't real people. In the 2008 Ram 2500 Mega cab, there are separate heating and air controls; center arm rests with illuminated cup holders; lights for reading and DVD entertainment options - sort of like a limousine!
There is a surplus of cargo space available when you fold down the rear seats - over 70 cubic feet. The flat loading floor helps to contribute. When you need to put something in the back, the doors open up wide to accommodate it. Don't you just hate those rear doors that only swing about 45 degrees? There are also rear cargo storage features like covered bins and multiple, adjustable hooks for hanging.
The available Cummins turbo-driven diesel engines provide excellent power and responsiveness; when you put your lead foot down, you should make sure that you have a firm grip on the optionally-heated leather steering wheel. If you are hauling heavy trailers for long distances regularly, you will want to give serious consideration to the Cummins option.
MSRPs for the 2008 Ram 2500 range from $26,140 to $42,410. They all come standard with 5.7L Hemi V8 engines and your choice of either 5 or 6 speed automatic transmissions. Customer satisfaction ratings are extremely high for these Dodge Rams. Ram owners love their trucks and are very apparently prepared to write stellar online reviews about them judging by the sheer volume available.
Everyone knows how the Ram design took the truck world by storm when first released. The sharp styling and rugged performance act in conjunction to win over all truck enthusiasts to some degree. It's hard not to be impressed when you consider features like the AM/FM/6CD/MP3 stereo system that pumps out serious tunes through its Infinity speakers and UConnect Bluetooth Hands-free communication system. Add in front and rear DVD screens and Sirius satellite radio next to the most modern NAV systems and we are talking about an almost futuristic vehicle here.
It's always lovely to consider the totally unlimited powertrain warranty on Dodge trucks as well, not to mention the fact that they rank first place in towing capacity. Overall, the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 full-sized pickups are certainly one of the best trucks available. Rams are in it to win it and they consistently deliver the performance and durability to make them a top contender in their classes.
