The Expedition is powered by a 5.4 liter V8 with 300 horsepower. Estimated gas mileage for the six-speed automatic (with overdrive) is 14 mpg city and 20 highway. The Expedition is capable of handling a trailer of as much as 6,000 lbs., a figure that can climb to 9,200 when the vehicle has been equipped with the optional package for heavier towing loads.

Posterior to the first row of seating volume in the nine-seat Expeditions ranges from 108.3 to 130.8 cubic feet.
