2010 Ford E-Series Passenger Van Review

The 2010 Ford E-Series commercial van comes in four different models, two of which are passenger vans: the XL and the XLT. Retail pricing begins at $27,970, about $419 per month with excellent Ford financing incentives and options. The XL and XLT are both solid choices for powerful, reliable family travels. Likewise, businesses that require a vehicle that can comfortably and safely transport up to 15 adults are able to count on the Ford E-Series. In fact, seating configurations are available to accommodate 7, 8, 11, 12, 14 or 15 grown individuals.

The high-capacity 2010 Ford E-350 passenger van can be optionally fitted with a very popular 6.8L Triton V10 joined to a TorqShift automatic five speed transmission. The TorqShift set of technologies has been proven to deliver under performance scenarios involving high-torque levels. The system includes a switchable Tow/Haul Mode that can automatically make up for variances in grade, load and/or altitude. The stock factory engine is a 4.6L 225hp (@ 4800 RPM) 286 lb-ft (@ 3500 RPM) V8.

The stock towing capacity for the 2010 E-Series passenger van from Ford is rated at 6000 pounds. An additional 3220 pounds of payload is welcomed. All trims are rear wheel-driven and require a sizable turning radius of 24.3 feet. Two separate and optional towing packages are offered. The Class I Trailer Towing Package is available on all trims and features a tough, easy to understand wiring harness for trailers. The Class II/III/IV Trailer Towing Package has electric brake control with tap-in capability, a blade-style female connecting wiring harness with a custom fit bumper bracket, a relay system for running and backup lights, and a hitch receiver that's mounted on the frame.

Also available for the Ford E-Series passenger van 2010:

  • Sirius Satellite Radio;
  • Premium Plus 6-disc CD System;
  • Premium Combination Audio/Navigation System;
  • Ford's new SYNC system;
  • Integrated Trailer Break Control (TBC) system that works in unison with an antilock braking system in order to synchronize the brakes of the vehicle with those of the trailer;
  • Reverse Sensing System that utilizes ultrasonic sensors mounted on the rear bumper to assist with low-speed backing;

The 2010 Ford E-Series passenger van is an overall excellent choice for tough, powerful small-mass transportation. Exterior dimensions are 216.7 x 79.4 x 82.4 inches (l, w, h). Its factory wheelbase is 138 inches even and the reported curb weight is 5710 pounds. On the inside, the following dimensions apply:
