2010 Ford Escape Hybrid Review

With manufacturer's suggested retail pricing ranging between $29,750 and $34,010, the new 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid provides prospective purchasers with an earth-loving alternative to traditional SUVs. Lessened emissions, enhanced fuel efficiency and the satisfaction of knowing that you are doing your part to conserve this planet's natural resources are all stock features with this new Ford hybrid system.

Two trim levels are available on the 2010 Escape Hybrid by Ford: the Base and the Limited. And either that you choose is available as a front wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. As for power, it is derived from a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, that when coupled to its complementing electric motor and continuously variable transmission, generates acceleration that is comparable to that of a more powerful V6 engine. It will transport you 34/31 miles for each gallon of fuel consumed. And when you are traveling with low engine load conditions, this full-bred hybrid is able to operate solely on the electric motor - especially nice for those with a Green conscience.

The 2010 Escape Hybrid also comes loaded with stock safety features. Of course there are front air bags for both the driver and the front passenger. There are also frontal side airbags which are seat mounted as well as side-curtain airbag systems for both forward and rear passengers. Add in the AdvanceTrac electronic stability control system that comes with special Ford technology to prevent vehicle rollovers, 4-wheel ABS breaking with electronic brake force distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system and available OnStar roadside assistance and you have one very tasty recipe for safety optimization.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is basically a direct carryover from the previous years. Few changes have been made. However, why try to fix what isn't broken? The Escape has been outselling all other small SUVs already and it continues to slowly increase its impressive list of styling, convenience, luxury and safety features. It also feels more like a bigger truck than what it is. It features a higher ride configuration and seating positioning than do most of its competitors including the Honda CR-V, the Toyota RAV4 and the Chevrolet HHR to name a few. It also throws in cool features like a handy AC power outlet for operating electronic devices like MP3 players and laptops.

The 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid also outperforms most of its competitors, including the Mazda Tribute Hybrid in terms of its towing capacity of 3500 pounds. And it does this while offering you impressive handling agility and ride smoothness. It provides very comfortable seating for four adults and not so comfortable seating for five. Dealer invoice prices range from $27,573 up to $31,449. This small sized SUV presents you with a comprehensively attractive package that also features big-truck styling. Purchasers are continually pleased as the Ford Company continues to set the standards for SUV hybrid technologies.
