2010 Ford Expedition Review

Delivering only an EPA-estimated 14/20 MPG urban/rural, the 2010 Ford Expedition is not the vehicle of choice for budget-conscious gasoline misers. However, if you are craving fullsized, power, spaciousness, elegance and loads of long-distance comfort, then the new Expy might be for you. It pulls bots, carries gear, tows campers, delivers furniture and a lot more, all with Ford's excellent guarantee for dependability, customer service and visual appeal.

With MSR pricing ranging between $35,585 - $48,590, the 2010 Expedition by Ford is loaded with various combinations of overall value. Competing against the Mercury Mountaineer and other class members is not an easy task, but the Expedition does so very gracefully. It well-rounded attribute list speaks for itself. Standard equipment includes:

  • Class III trailer hitch;
  • 3 rows of curtain airbags;
  • Electronic stability with anti-rollover technologies;
  • 6-speed auto transmission;
  • 5.4L SOHC 310hp 365 lb-ft V8;
  • 4-wheel ABS;
  • The MyKey entry/access system;
  • Trailer Sway Control;
  • And much more...

Double 5-star frontal crash safety ratings have been awarded to the Ford Expedition 2010. It has been comprehensively designed with family safety in mind and will instill confidence in all occupants regardless of the terrain challenged. When properly equipped, the Expedition is able to tow up to 9000 pounds and features a near-1900-pound payload capacity. It's equipped with a 28.0-gallon fuel reservoir and requires a sizable 20.4-foot turning radius. Credit-worthy consumers will find excellent Ford financing deals right now, especially as the Toyota situation continues to unwind.

Exterior dimensions for the 2010 Ford Expedition are reported at 206.5 x 78.8 x 77.2 inches (l, w, h). It lights the scales up with curb weights ranging from 5578 to 5805 pounds. It also clears the ground by 8.7 inches. Balance is nicely established atop its 119.0-inch wheelbase. One of the nicest features about the Expedition is the fact that both front and rear passengers have been thoroughly considered by design engineers. 40 inches of head room front and rear, 63 inches for the shoulders (64 rear), 60 inches of hip room (front/rear) and a pleasing 41.0 inches of leg room (39.1 rear) will be found. The 55.0 cubic feet of standard luggage capacity easily expands up to 108.3 by folding the rear seating down. And of course, options for technology, luxury and added safety are virtually limitless. Overall, the Expedition delivers a lot of what you want at prices you can still afford.
