2010 Ford F-450 Super Duty Review
The manufacturers suggested retail price for the 2010 Ford F-450 Super Duty pickup truck ranges between $52,965 and $55,660 with generous dealer loans. As pickup trucks go, this is definitely one of the biggest, toughest and most rugged ever created. Its 6.4L 350hp twin turbo diesel V8 engine works together with your choice between a six speed manual or five speed automatic transmission to crank out an amazing 650 lb-ft of twisting torque at a low-rated 2000 RPM. It comes in four different levels of trim: the King Ranch, the Lariat, the XL, and the XLT.
Watch out Dodge Ram 3500, Chevrolet Avalanche and Toyota Tundra; the 2010 Ford F-450 has you in its sights. And this is one big boy that you don't wanna mess with. This truck is made for men who love big trucks - and also don't mind going to the fuel pumps to throw down $100 bills. It features a massive 38 gallon fuel tank, but we won't even discuss the EPA estimated fuel efficiency ratings. Let's just say that that isn't what this truck is made for - and Ford hasn't bothered to report them.
What it is made for is hauling - and towing. This 2010 Super Duty F450 from Ford dealers has a mind-blowing towing capacity of 16,000 pounds when properly equipped. Its curb weight breaks concrete at 8646 pounds. Measuring 262.4 x 95.5 x 79.8 inches in length, width and height respectively, this monster truck means business. It clears the ground by 7.8 inches and rides on top of a 172 inch wheelbase. Can anybody say "Get out of the way!"?
Inside of the super-spacious cabin, you can stretch out in some serious comfort with 41 inches of legroom in the front and 41.8 inches in the back. Front and rear headroom measurements are equivalent at 41.4 inches and hip room in both the front and the rear measures an amazing 67+ inches as well. Made for big men with big torsos, front and rear shoulder room measurements both top out at 68 inches even. All of this spaciousness creates a staggering 135 cubic feet of passenger volume.
All models of the 2010 Ford F-450 are duallies. They also all feature four separate doors that open conventionally. Powered and heated door mirrors with turn signal indicators are standard features on all trims except for the XL where they are optional. All models also come with an extra-tough trailer hitch receiver. Split fold rear seating, rear seat arm rests, leather upholstery and leather steering wheel covers are also standard features on all models except for the XL. Steering wheel mounted audio controls command a nine speaker stereo system featuring MP3/CD decoders.
And don't think that this big truck doesn't offer you loads of options for techie gadgets that guys love too. NAV Systems, DVD entertainment systems, Ford SYNC communications and various other powered features all abound. Nothing is forgotten and nothing is left out. In terms of standard safety features, you can count on highly advanced ABS braking, electronic traction control, panic alarm, keyless entry, dual frontal air bags, ignition disabling and more. In short, anything that you can think of has already been included in this new Ford F450.
The 2010 Ford F-450 Super Duty full sized pickup truck also has you covered with an impressive dealer warranty plan. Basic coverage is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles. Your Powertrain warranty covers you for 60 months or 60,000 miles. You have corrosion coverage for 60 months and unlimited perforation coverage. And to top all of that off, you have standard roadside assistance coverage for 60 months or 60,000 miles as well. If you're looking for a big, powerful truck that can take you anywhere and flash serious style simultaneously, then definitely check one of these bad boys out.
