2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid Review
With an M.S.R.P. for the 2WD of $50,945 and the 4WD of $53,775, the 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid is on the record stating that it will produce 50 percent better city mpg mileage than a conventional SUV. What brings the boys to the yard about this hybrid SUV is its "Two-Mode Hybrid Propulsion System," which uses two 60kw electric motors and a 6.0 Liter 332hp V8 gas engine with Active Fuel Management, cam phasing, and late intake valve closing. The Yukon can operate on electric only propulsion, gasoline engine only, or a combination of the two to produce 22mpg city, 20mpg highway for the 2WD and 20mpg city, 20mpg highway for the 4WD.
Redesigned for 2008, the Yukon Hybrid incorporates new aerodynamic styling of the front surfaces including the hood. Weight has been reduced through the use of aluminum in the hood and liftgate. Inertia has been trimmed by using lighter weight 18" aluminum wheels and tires with low rolling resistance. The new look of the Yukon is smoother, more streamlined, and elegant.
The Yukon Hybrid comes in the single short wheelbase trim and interior refinements such as leather trimmed upholstery, a rear-view camera with park assist, and three zone climate control. No SUV should be without OnStar with turn by turn navigation and XM Satellite Radio. The premium audio system in the Yukon is digitally balanced for the best quality sound. Front passengers and driver are protected with dual-phase airbags and the rear outboard passengers are protected by side-impact airbags. Making your excursions more enjoyable as well as safe, the 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid adds the optional moonroof and DVD entertainment system for the rear seat passengers to enjoy.
