The 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD has had a longstanding history in the GMC lineup. The 2008 model year revealed a new Sierra 2500HD. Its power is virtually unmatched by other makers' comparable models on the market. Its unadorned and humble exterior belies its wealth of features. It seems that GMC has come to the realization that the Sierra 2500HD 4WD does not need all of that fluff on the outside because the inside is where it counts the most.

The Sierra 2500 4WD is equipped with either a Vortec 6.0L SFI V8 or GMC's Duramax Turbodiesel 6.6L V8. The Vortec engine gets 353 horsepower, while the Turbodiesel produces up to 365 horsepower, towing up to around 13,000-lb and a payload of 3,800-lb. Buyers get their choice of either a 6-speed automatic or an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic.

If the Sierra is fitted with the Turbodiesel engine, it can operate on biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel fuel will both save the driver money at the pump as well as emit fewer pollutants into the air. Unfortunately, estimated fuel economy ratings are not available on the pickup truck. Another plus in the Sierra is the keyless entry. Drivers simply press a button on the key fob and presto, the doors lock or unlock. A remote start system is also available to easily warm up the truck on those cold or rainy days from the comfort of the driver's home or office. A tire pressure monitoring system gives drivers an extra boost of confidence knowing that they will be alerted if any of the tires are lacking the proper air pressure. And what truck driver does not want a spectacular sound system? The 4WD has available an in-dash navigation and audio system. Also, the Sierra comes standard with three-month trial subscription to XM Satellite Radio.

Overall, the 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD gives truck drivers what they are looking for. It can haul or tow just about any load. Its interior features far surpass those of other comparables on the market. Also, the 4WD is perfect for off-roading or plowing through a winter snowfall. Not only is this a perfect work truck, it is a great truck to simply drive. Comfort, style, and confidence are what a driver can expect to find in the GMC Sierra 2500HD.
