2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review

For the environmentally conscious family, the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid is an attractive and serviceable four-door with room for five. Expect to pay between $22,600 and $24,350. For the money, you're getting a 1.3-liter I4 hybrid engine producing 110 horsepower. That translates to an impressive 49 mpg in town and 51 out on the road.

Some reviewers find that the automatic engine shut-off produces jerky transitions during start and stop driving and some complain of a lack of that feeling of power from the gasoline engine. Both of these faults, if you choose to call them that, are nothing more than the growing pains of an emerging class of hybrid vehicles. With gas prices on the rise, most drivers will be more than willing to put up with a little jerkiness to achieve the Civic's impressive mileage figures.

Inside, the 2007 Civic Hybrid offers plenty of features to thrill the tech savvy driver from voice-controlled navigation to Bluetooth connectivity. Simply put, you're not making a compromise to drive a Civic Hybrid and you are making a contribution with a vehicle that has beautifully low emissions and stunning mileage performance. Honda has a winner in this one.

No matter whether you are in love with the performance quirks and small size of the Civic Hybrid or not, there remains one, indisputable piece of data. The 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid is one of the world's least polluting cars. The EPA test for air pollution on the Civic was 9/10, and 10/10 for greenhouse gas emissions. And after all, is there any more compelling reason for owning a hybrid?
