Both trim levels of the 2007 Honda FIT come standard with a 5-speed manual transmission (5-speed automatic is available as an optional upgrade) and a 109 hp in-line 4-cylinder engine. As well, both have a full array of Honda safety features, including 3-point seat belts for all passengers, front, front side, and side curtain airbags, anti-lock breaks, side impact door beams, and childproof locks on the rear doors.
The FIT also has the usual Honda exterior features: power side windows, roof mounted antenna, multi-prismatic xenon headlights, dent-proof bumpers, timed windshield wipers and tinted glass. The Sport also includes fog lights, a rear spoiler, and a remote entry system.
Inside the car, motorized windows and door locks, environmental cooling, power outlets, and cup holders are standard on both models. The Sport also includes throttle control. And then there's the special back seat - so special, in fact, that Honda calls it the Magic Seat and has trademarked the phrase. More than a simple 60/40 split back seat, the back seat in the 2007 Honda FIT has 4 distinct configurations. In Tall mode, the seat bottom flips upward, allowing for the storage of tall items, like bicycles, potted plants or framed artwork. Refresh mode allows the front seats to recline flat, meeting, rather than overlapping, the edge of the rear seat, perfect for quick naps in roadside rest areas, or camping in inclement weather. Long mode allows the front passenger seat to be folded down as well as the rear seat, for porting of long items - think skis or ironing boards, and Utility mode is the most conventional folded-flat back seat configuration, for bulky cargo or household pets.
