2007 Hyundai Sonata Review
The 2007 Hyundai Sonata is available in three models, the GLS ($17,345), the SE ($21,345) and the Limited ($23,345). The GLS is equipped with a 2.4 liter 16-valve engine generating 162 horsepower as a manual transmission with five speeds (automatic with four speeds optional.) The SE and Limited each have a 24-valve 2.2 liter engine producing 226 horsepower as an automatic with five speeds.
The manual transmission with five speeds returns 24 mpg city and 34 highway on the GLS with the automatic showing 24 and 33. The automatic with five speeds on the SE and Limited register 20 mpg city and 30 highway. All models have a 17.7 gallon fuel tank.
All models have head room measuring 40.1 inches in the front, 38.2 in the rear with leg room of 43.7 and 37.4 respectively. Cargo volume across the line is 16.3 cubic feet.
Occupants in the Sonatas are protected by two air bags in the front as well as those mounted in the seat to deflect impact from the side and those in the curtain position for all outboard passengers. The electronic braking system employs quad-sensors for the distribution of force on an independent basis to each wheel. All models have all-wheel disc brakes with ABS.
The 2007 Hyundai Sonatas have a steering wheel wrapped in leather that tilts and incorporates buttons for the vehicle's cruise control. The models come standard with a combo audio unit playing over six speakers with MP3 playback capability.
