2008 Hyundai Elantra Review
The 2008 Hyundai Elantra offers an excellent choice for drivers who need a compact car with an economic frame of mind in a handsome body with good lines and an eye toward style. The Elantra is available in an MSRP range of $13,525 to $16,225 and offers an outstanding 33 miles per gallon on the highway and 24 for in town driving.
For the coming model year the Elantra offers more interior space to comfortably accommodate five. Three trim levels are available: GLS, SE, and Limited. All models are powered by a 2-liter, four-cylinder producing 138 horsepower. Drivers can choose between a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.
Standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes on all wheels with systems for electronic distribution of brake force. You get a full array of airbags, including front, side-impact, and side-curtain bags plus active head restraints in the front. For 2008 Hyundai has also added electronic stability control as an included feature.
The Elantra is Hyundai's bestseller in the United States. The four-door sedan consistently rates high in customer satisfaction. The 2008 Hyundai Elantra is the fourth iteration of the popular offering and has the same solid build and high level of comfort that characterized previous generations. From the well-illuminated gauges to the maximized storage options, the cabin looks like something that belongs in a much higher-end model. Overall Hyundai has a high-performance, wallet friendly option in the Elantra. Expect good value and good performance from this compact.
