2010 Hyundai Azera Review

The GLS trim of the 2010 Hyundai Azera features a 3.3L V6 engine that generates 234 horses at 6000 RPM and 226 lb-ft of torque at 3500. The other trim, the Limited, is fitted with a beefier 3.8L V6 that whips up 263 ponies and 257 lb-ft of twist. Both are joined to a 5-speed automatic Shiftronic gearbox for flawless shifting. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the Azera will deliver 18/25 mpg city/rural. A full 19.8-gallon fuel tank will allow you to cruise in style well over 400 miles. With either trim, you can expect to tow up to 1000 pounds and benefit from 16.6 cubic feet of luggage capacity. The Azera is Hyundai's answer to public demand for a near-luxury fullsized 4-door sedan that won't close out your retirement accounts to buy it. Retail pricing as suggested by the manufacturer ranges from $24,970 up to $29,570.

The Azera from Hyundai for 2010 is a sizable front wheel drive vehicle that delivers bucketloads of amenities and value. Spaciousness, comfort, plenty of high-tech gadgets and systems, an excellent list of standard safety features and movie star looks make it an increasingly popular choice for American buyers. The Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Taurus, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are all at least a bit nervous. The GLS and Limited trims both require 18.7 feet of turning radius and the provide a pleasingly smooth, yet nimble ride quality.

GLS standard features for safety, comfort and style include:

  • Electronic traction and stability control;
  • 4-wheel ABS braking and automatic air conditioning;
  • 17 inch alloy wheels and simulated wood interior accents;
  • 8 airbags and satellite radio;
  • Powered front seats and cruise control;
  • Active frontal head restraints and remote keyless entry;
  • And a lot more;

The Limited trim of the 2010 Azera Hyundai throws in features like heated front seats, genuine leather seat trim, a powered rear windshield blind and an upgraded stereo system just to name a few. New for this year, Limited trims also feature a standard telescopic/tilt woodgrain steering wheel, a powered sunroof, an integrated memory system and premium quality door sill scuff protection plates. Both trim levels have been fitted with a new easy lane changing feature as well.

The total cost to own a 2010 Hyundai Azera for the first 5 years is $42,376. That includes roughly $6000 for insurance, $5000 for financing and another $7000 in fuel. Additionally, you can expect roughly $19,000 worth of depreciation in the same time span. At 192.7 inches in length, the Azera is 72.8 inches wide and 58.7 inches tall. It travels on a 109.4 inch wheelbase and clears the ground by 6.4 inches for easy entry. It weighs in at 3629 pounds of curb weight and features standard seating for 5. 40 inches of headroom, 58 inches of shoulder room, 56 inches of hip room and a very nice 43.7 inches of leg room is presented to front seat occupants. It's certainly worth your time and consideration and many experts feel that the Azera offers the best bang for your bucks in the entire class.
