2010 Hyundai Genesis Review

2010 Hyundai Genesis Review

The 2010 Hyundai Genesis is a luxury sedan designed intelligently to take on competitors like the Lexus GS, Infiniti M and BMW 5-Series. It definitely stacks up well on all levels, and does so with far more attractive price points. MSRPs range from just $33,000 up to $39,500. If you're in the market for a sedan that's comparable to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, yet with prices more like a Chrysler 300, then you definitely need to short list the new Genesis.

The Hyundai Genesis 2010 is definitely not a wimp. Its base engine is a 3.8L V6 that cranks out 290 ponies at 6200 RPM and 264 lb-ft of torque at 4500. Not enough power for you, opt for the 4.6L 375 horsepower V8 that churns out 333 pound-feet of torque at a low revving 3500 RPM. Both engine choices send power out to their rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential shift automatic transmission. Estimations for fuel economy by the Environmental Protection Agency are reported at 18/27 MPG urban/rural (17/25 MPH for the 4.6L V8). Fill up the 19.3 gallon fuel reservoir and travel 400 miles with ease while saving money on gas.

The Chevrolet Impala and the Ford Taurus begin to visibly tremble when they are compared to the 2010 Genesis by Hyundai. The Genesis is loaded down with standard mechanical safety features including electronic stability control, electronic traction control, panic brake assist and many more. On the inside of the very well done cabin, you will be further protected with an impressive array of airbags, electronic anti-whiplash frontal head restraints, tire pressure monitoring and more. To keep you comfortable, genuine leather seating, automatic 2-zone climate controls, real woodgrain/aluminum trim and pleasing electroluminescent gauges act in conjunction. In a nutshell, the Genesis offers standard features that are most often reserved for vehicles that cost much more.

Other notable standard and optional features of the 2010 Genesis include:

  • Chrome accents;
  • iPod interface;
  • 7.1 Surround 17 speaker stereo system;
  • 44.3 inches of frontal legroom;
  • Voice activated navigation;
  • Easy to understand multimedia interface;

You'll find a very respectable 15.9 cubic feet of luggage room in the trunk of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis. Base models report for duty with a curb weight of 3748 pounds and measure 195.9 inches in length, a well balanced 115.6 inch wheelbase clears the ground by 5.2 inches. Even diehard fans of American automobiles have to admit the value presented by the new Genesis; it's difficult to match. Hyundai has really gone out full force to offer American consumers a vehicle they dream of at prices they can afford. Check one out today; it definitely won't hurt you.
