The comprehensively redesigned 2010 Hyundai Tucson has an entirely new list of standard features. It retails between $18,995 and $25,845. Its exterior design is fluidly sleek and creates a unique competitive advantage in the crossover utility vehicle segment. In battle for sales with the Honda Element, Mazda Tribute, Chevy HHR Panel and Toyota Rav4, the new Tuscon is ready and willing to show you what it's made of. 2 trims levels are available: GLS and Limited. Both derive power from a 2.4L inline 4-cylinder engine and your choice between a 6-speed automatic and 6-peed manual transmission. Horsepower tops out at 176 (@ 6000 RPM) and torque ratings are reported at 168 lb-ft (@ 4000 RPM). Front wheel and 4-wheel drive configurations are available.
The EPA estimates that the Hyundai Tuscon 2010 will deliver 22/30 MPG urban/rural. A full 17.3 gallon fuel tank will enable you to travel 375 miles plus. Low-rolling resistance silica tires, an Eco indicator system for efficient driver training, MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) and more act in conjunction to maximize fuel economy. Add in standard safety features including 6 airbags, electronic traction and stability control, 4-wheel ABS braking, electronic brake assist and active frontal head restraints to begin appreciating all that the Tuscon offers.
The 2010 Tuscon from Hyundai can tow up to 1000 pounds behind it. It requires a 17.3-foot turning radius as well. The Tuscon is the smallest CUV offered by the Korean automaker. It is a strict 5-seater and reminds one of such rivals as the Honda CR-V. There is no 3rd seating row available. This is a compact utility vehicle that's designed to maximize interior comfort while simultaneously maximizing fuel efficiency. And for those that crave more power, it is notable that the Tuscon is available as V6 while the Hondas are not. With a 3240 curb weight, the new Tuscon measures 170.3 x 70.7 x 66.1 inches in length, width and height. It clears the ground by 7.7 inches and rides on a 103.5-inch wheelbase.
Double 5-star safety ratings have been awarded to the 2010 Hyundai Tuscon from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA). It does great for inner-city sprints, but truly excels on longer highway trips. It steers light and easy. Its interior is nicely finished and pleasing to the senses; nothing seems cheap here. Easy-operating controls present no puzzles and the rear seats flip down flat with very little human effort. Any way that you consider it, the new Tucson is a worthy competitor for a spot on your short list. Explore Hyundai's trendsetting innovation further and test drive a new Tucson today.
