2010 Hyundai Veracruz Review

Intelligent design standards, innovative seating for seven and loads of high-end features are presented to purchasers of the 2010 Hyundai Veracruz. This luxurious crossover SUV is available in front wheel drive and AWD in either the base GLS or Limited trims. Suggested pricing ranges between $28,145 and $35,895 - price points that are considered to be very easy to swallow upon witnessing the value granted.

Competing primarily with the Honda Pilot, Subaru Tribeca and the 2009 Toyota Highlander, the 2010 Veracruz from Hyundai features a versatile array of standard safety features. In addition to front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, side curtain airbags are presented for all passengers. ABS braking with a system for electronic brake force distribution (EBD) is standard. Additionally, electronic stability control applies pressure to individual brakes to maximize cornering efficiency. Seatbelt pretensioners, and active head restraints that move forward in the event of an accident, are in place in order to minimize whiplash.

Four new color schemes are available for the Hyundai Veracruz in 2010: beige, black, gray and saddle. The interior creates a pleasing ambiance with its subtle blue-hued background lighting and well placed instrumentation configurations. All creature features including Bluetooth connectivity, iPod interface, Infiniti stereo, optional GPS navigation and more are included. The Veracruz is known for an abundance of upscale standards that Hyundai claims to "Up the Standard" with.

A very capable 3.8L (3788cc) 260 (@6000 pm) 257 lb-ft (@4500 rpm) Lambda 24-valve V6 engine with a 10.4:1 compression ratio lurks under the hood of the 2010 Veracruz. It acts in conjunction with a CCVT transmission to yield 17/23 mpg (FWD) and 16/22 mpg (AWD). Its wheelbase measures 110.4 inches. Ground clearance is measured at 8.1 inches and overall vehicular dimensions are 190.6 x 76.6 x 71.1 inches (l x w x h). Front wheel drive models have a 4266 pound curb weight while AWD models weigh 4431 pounds. 3500 pounds of camper, watercraft or trailer can be towed efficiently behind.

Comfort and luxury are primary design goals for the 2010 Hyundai Veracruz. Frontal passengers can stretch about in 40.3 inches of headroom, 42.6 inches of legroom, 60.6 inches of shoulder room and 57.5 inches of hip room. Behind the third row of seating, 13.4 cubic feet of cargo volume exists. Fold down that third row to increase cargo volume to 40 cubic feet. And without the second and third row of seating in the way, interior cargo volume increases to 86.8 cubic feet. Total interior volume measures 150.6 cubic feet. The Veracruz offers further proof that Hyundai is advancing as a major world source for high-quality, innovative and luxurious vehicles.
