The Hyundai Tucson was launched as a small crossover sports utility vehicle in 2005. The vehicle derived its power from a 2.0 or 2.7 Liter V6 engine. The Tucson was a front-wheel drive vehicle that came in three versions - entry level or GLS, SE and Limited. The entry level vehicle was equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, six airbags, electronic system to make sure that the vehicle does not topple over, CD player and cloth seats. The entry level model was powered by a 2.7 Liter V6 engine. The SE model came equipped with a body made of different alloy and a stereo system that could play AM/FM radio as well as CDs and cassettes. It came with the same engine as the entry level model. The Limited model was equipped with a system that controls the temperatures inside the car automatically, heated seats and a CD player located in the dashboard. It was powered by a 2.0 Liter engine having four cylinders. There was limited space to store baggage in the vehicle, but all the seats could be folded to store more luggage. In 2006, no major changes were made to the Tucson except for better cloth seats for the GLS and new tires for the GLS and Limited.
In the model year 2007, the Hyundai Tucson is available in three versions - entry level, SE and Limited. The GLS is powered by a 2.0 Liter engine having four cylinders with a choice between a five speed manual transmission or four speed automatic. It has air conditioning, a stereo system with a CD player and all the mirrors are heated. The SE has a 2.7 Liter V6 engine and comes with an automatic transmission. It has lights to combat fog, thicker tires, a system that monitors the pressure in all four tires and a stereo system that can play cassettes, CDs or MP3s. The Limited has the same engine and transmission as the SE but adds leather seats and temperatures inside the car that can be controlled automatically.
2012 Hyundai TucsonDespite the somewhat odd shape and design of the exterior, the 2012 Hyundai Tucson has many positive features to consider. One of the first factors is the fact the quite modest beginning MSRP of $19,145. Despite the obviously funky shape, the exterior of the 2012 Tucson has much to offer. The overall stance provides supreme stability, while the spoiler on the roof helps with control. The wrap-around bi-xenon headlights illuminate the curved road ahead, as soon as you turn the wheel. Perhaps most amazingly is the dual sunroofs over the front and rear seats, which provides a nearly panoramic view of the sky.
Consumers have 3 models of the 2012 Hyundai Tucson to choose from. The first is the GL, a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine with up to 150 horsepower. This basic model is able to obtain 31 MPG highway and 23 MPG in-town. Stepping it up a notch is the Hyundai Tucson GLS. This model and the Tucson Limited both have a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder with Theta Continuously Variable Valve Timing and 32 MPG highway and 23 in-town.
