2010 Infiniti FX50 Review
Combined dual intake and dual exhaust systems give the 2010 Infiniti FX50 its distinct, impressive growl. It features a choice between a 5.0L 390hp 369 lb-ft V8 and a 3.5L 303hp V6 engine, both able to deliver excellent thrill ratios. Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) technologies join into help aspirate the V8 engine efficiently in order to provide quick pounce-like acceleration. With a 23.8-gallon fuel tank and EPA estimations for fuel economy of 14/20 mpg urban/rural, the new "Bionic Cheetah" can run for over 400 miles on a single fill up. It's also able to pull up to 3500 pounds behind it while simultaneously accommodating a payload capacity of 1182 pounds.
The FX50 Infiniti 2010 requires an 18.3-foot turning radius and is all wheel-driven. Although the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not issued their report for frontal crash test safety ratings concerning the new Cheetah yet, the IIHS awards it top ratings in all categories. Standard safety features for the FX50 include, but are not limited to:
- 4-wheel antilock brakes to modulate braking pressure to ensure that all tires are continuously able to turn;
- Electronic stability control uses sensors to determine when the vehicle is overtaxed, and then sends the command to reduce engine power;
- Front, side and overhead airbags;
- Seat belt pretensioners that automatically position all occupants in the best ways if a collision is imminent;
- Anti-whiplash head restraints that cradle the head;
- An advanced vehicle security system that features an ignition disable function;
- And many more...
The FX50 2010 Infiniti measures 191.3 inches in length, 75.9 inches in width and 66.1 inches in height. Its wheelbase is 113.6 inches and it clears the ground by 7.4 inches. Curb weight is reported at 4575 pounds, making the FX50 superb in corners. On the inside, front and rear passengers all enjoy 39 inches of headroom and 57 inches of shoulder room. 55 inches of hip room in the front is almost matched by 54 in the rear. The big difference is found in leg room measurements: 44.7 inches in the front down to 34.6 in the rear. The standard 24.8 cubic feet of luggage capacity can be expanded to 62.0 cubic feet by lowering the rear seating row. Comfortable seating accommodates five adults.
The Infiniti FX50 is also loaded with technological advancements including:
- Around View monitoring system;
- Distance Control Technology;
- Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System;
- Bose premium audio system;
- Dual DVD head restraint monitors for rear occupants;
- And loads more...
