2007 Jaguar S-Type Review
The 2007 Jaguar S-Type is offered in three models. The 3.0 ($49,000), the 4.0 ($56,000), and the R ($64,000). The 3.0 is powered by a three-liter, 235 horsepower V6 with an automatic transmission (six speed.) The 4.2 features a 300 horsepower, 4.2-liter V8, while the S-Type R has a 400 horsepower supercharged 4.2-liter V8.
Technology for adaptive restraint in the 3.0 protects occupants while systems for the control of the vehicle's stabiliy ensure a smooth, safe driving experience. The mirror caps, the surround of the grill, and the blades of the bumpers all have a bright finish. The moonroof can be powered open and closed with a single touch of a button. Seating is upholstered in premium leather and offers sixteen levels of adjustment for the driver and twelve for the passenger.
Jaguar chose burled walnut for the trim and incorporated a standard audio combo with an option to add both navigation capability and Bluetooth connectivity. For the entertainment of rear occupants a DVD-based system may be added. The 4.2 offers a 320-watt Alpine audio unit playing across ten speakers standard.
The 2007 Jaguar S-type R package offers an even greater level of luxury with stylish exhaust tips of stainless steel, ebony window surrounds, exterior caps on the mirrors painted to match the body (as are the surround of the grill, the blades of the bumpers and the rear spoiler.) Looking to the interior you'll find bird's eye maple stained gray employed for the trim with the steering wheel and the knob of the gearshift wrapped in leather.
