Read about the standard features and desirable options avauilable on the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Range Rover Sport is tops in value over Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes.

The 2007 Range Rover Sport's exterior lines are pleasing to the eye. Its robust V8 puts a comfortable roar under the hood, and the interior is all about the driver.
Land Rover has had a long and vibrant history since 1948. The English based maker first introduced American buyers to the Range Rover in 1970, and it wasn't until 2005 that the Land Rover Range Rover Sport made its way onto sales lots. The Range Rover Sport is a smaller version of the Range Rover and shares the same platform as the Discovery. The 5-passenger Range Rover Sport has become one of Land Rover's top selling vehicles in the years since its inception. Since 2005, the Range Rover Sport has been available with four different engine levels: the Jaguar AJ V8, a supercharged AJ V8, a turbo diesel V8, and a turbo diesel V6. The horsepower ranges from 295 to a whopping 410. Buyers were thrilled with the options in the beginning, but since fuel prices have been on the rise, some are opting for more efficient SUVs.
Recently, Greenpeace disrupted production of the Range Rover Sport because of poor emission ratings and its part in global warming. News outlets jumped on the story and spread the word about Land Rover's failure to create vehicles that take less of a toll on the environment. Also, Greenpeace used the poor fuel economy as a reason for the protest, and with only around 14 MPG, the organization seemed to be speaking for the nation as a whole.
Originally, the Range Rover Sport was called the Range Stormer in its concept stage. Though the Stormer was far from the current Range Rover Sport, the exterior design hinted at what was to come with the Sport. Many visitors to auto shows that featured the vehicle were excited that Land Rover was going to release a contemporary model, but quickly had their hopes dashed when the Range Rover Sport made it onto sales lots. The mid-size SUV fits in perfectly with Land Rover's lineup. However, reviewers are quick to point out that the Range Rover Sport is due for a makeover sometime soon. The vehicle has been featured on several television shows, including a British action program called Top Gear. One of the most impressive features that critics have pointed out for years is the adaptability of the Range Rover Sport. Apparently, the Sport can drive through up to almost 28-inches of water without flooding the engine. For this reason, many branches of the military in foreign countries choose to use the Range Rover Sport in missions.
