2008 Lexus IS Review

As with many of Lexus's luxury line of vehicles, the 2008 Lexus IS premium quality compact sport sedan is unchanged for the 2008 model year, with the exception of an IS F trim. This 4 door, 5 passenger sedan is available in 3 trim levels that include an all wheel drive version - all with top notch interiors and amazingly luxurious detail. An impressive design that sets it apart from many of the non-descript mid size sedans and an excellent resale value distinguishes the plush IS Series from many other sedans on the market today.

The entry level Lexus IS 250 is available in all wheel drive or front wheel drive versions with a 2.5 liter V6 engine. The IS 350 has a 306 horsepower 3.5 liter V6 and is only available with rear wheel drive. The IS F, which is new for the 2008 model year, features a powerful 5.0 liter V8 that produces 416 horsepower. The rear wheel drive IS 250's come standard with a 6 speed manual transmission, while an automatic transmission is optional for all wheel drive versions of both the IS 250 and each IS 350. The high performance IS F comes standard with a robust 8 speed automatic.

In addition to all the luxurious comfort and convenience features, safety equipment is not skimpy either, with anti-lock brakes, traction control and a full array of air bags standard on all models. The interior of all IS models feature adaptive xenon HID head lights, heated and ventilated leather seats, an premium surround sound audio system, a navigation system with rearview camera, Bluetooth capabilities and adaptive cruise control. Options are limited for such a full featured vehicle, while optional goodies include high performance tires and larger rims as well as a firmer suspension and front spoiler.
