2010 Lexus GX Review
The 2010 Lexus GX is available in Base and Premium trims. Retail price points as suggested by Lexus are $51,970 and $56,765 respectively. The GX is a full-sized body-on-frame luxury utility vehicle that's very well equipped with loads of standard features for safety, technological superiority, luxury and efficiency. Power is derived from a surprisingly economical 4.6L 301hp 329 lb-ft 4-cam V8 engine that features dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). It is constructed with aluminum blocks and heads, has a 10.2:1 compression ratio and is classified as ULEV-II (Ultra-Low Emissions) vehicle by the EPA.
The 2010 Lexus 460 GX seats 7 people in plenty of comfortable spaciousness. The second row of seating easily slides forward to provide convenient access to the 3rd row. The 3rd row can also be folded flat with just a single touch of a button. You find a maximum cargo capacity of 64.7 cubic feet and enough cup holders and cubby holes to appease all passengers. Leg room is a slight concern for those who have large family members; 1st, 2nd and 3rd, row legroom measurements are reported at 41.7, 34.1 and a limited 29.3 inches respectively.
The 2010 GX Lexus doesn't fool around when its accelerator is depressed; it jumps into powerful action and commands confidence from all occupants. Both trims have reported 0 - 60 speeds of just 7.8 seconds and 1/4-mile times of 16.6 seconds. The GX has a top track speed record of 110 miles per hour and a drag coefficient of 0.35. It requires a 38.1-feet turning radius and delivers 15/20 mpg city/highway, as reported by the EPA.
On the outside of the GX Lexus 2010, it measures 189.2 x 74.2 x 74.2 inches in length, width and height respectively. It features a solid-riding curb weight of 5305 pounds and does quite well in tight cornering situations. The GX has a long list of standard safety, suspension, comfort and performance features to keep everyone happy including:
- Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS)with electronically modulated rear air suspension;
- Power-assisted rack-n-pinion steering;
- Electronically adjustable rear and front stabilization bars;
- Electronic brake force distribution;
- Electronic brake assist;
- Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB);
- 4-sensor, 4-channel ABS;
- Downhill Assist Control;
- Electronic brake force distribution (EBD);
- Rearview camera;
- And that really is just the beginning...
The 2010 Lexus GX 460 also includes many green innovations including the Eco Indicator that displays a full-color graph informing the driver of real-time driving efficiency levels. The GX is capable of towing up to 6500 pounds and does so with apparent effortlessness. It's a strong brut of a vehicle that has been meticulously designed to deliver power, agility and of course, more than enough luxurious amenities to keep a king satisfied. This is new fullsized Lexus luxury-grade SUV; expect to thoroughly enjoy getting to know it.
