2010 Lexus HS 250h Review
The 2010 Lexus HS 250h is a brand new hybrid vehicle that delivers a very pleasing 35/34 MPG. A 14.5 gallon fuel tank is included. Its power comes from a combination of an Atkinson 2.4L 144 cubic inch I4 aluminum-constructed engine that works in conjunction with a high-output permanent-magnet electric-drive motor to create a surprising 187 horses at 6000 RPM. It also cranks out 138 lb-ft of torque at 4400 RPM. It travels from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 112 miles per hour. With dual cams, 4 separate valves per cylinder and a 12.5:1 compression ratio, you'll have a hard time believing that you are driving a hybrid.
In competition with the Acura TSX, BMW 328, Cadillac CTS and the Mercedes Benz C-Class, the new Lexus HS 250h hits the market for luxury hybrids. It presents very comfortable seating for five and is available in either a Base or Premium trim. Its front wheels are powered by an ECVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission) that works with the Atkinson in four different operational modes: EV (electric only), Normal, Eco and Power. Further, it is classified as SULEV II (super ultra low emissions vehicle).
Pricing for the 2010 HS 250h from Lexus ranges from $34,200 up to $36,970. And as you would expect, you may order yours custom-loaded with interior amenities including genuine leather trim and seating, power seating, 2-zoned climate controls, a 137W 10-speaker 6-disc audio system, hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, a powered moonroof and the very popular Homelink system to name a few.
External dimensions for the HS 250 hybrid 2010 Lexus are measured at 184.8 x 70.3 x 59.3 inches respective of length, width and height. Its wheelbase measures 106.3 inches and carries its curb weight of 3770 pounds. It also clears the ground by 6.1 inches Cabin spaciousness is more than adequate with 38 inches of frontal headroom (37 and rear), 54 inches of front and rear shoulder room, 53 inches of front hip room (51 and rear) and 42.6 inches of front leg room (34.5 and rear). It also features 12.1 cubic feet of trunk space.
Yet another excellent advancement in the hybrid automobile market, the 2010 Lexus HS 250h promises to be a big hit. The hybrid market is absolutely on fire with activity and demand. Lexus wants to lead it. You can be assured that this vehicle will be pleasing in every way.
