2010 Lexus LS Review
There are four trims of the 2010 Lexus LS available: LS 460 L AWD, LS 460 L, LS 460 AWD and LS 460. MSRP's begin at $65,380 for the LS 460, the base model. Top level LS 460 L AWD models can be purchased beginning at $74,450. Any trim selected will also be subject to an $875 fee for handling and processing. The 90 degree V8 engine for the LS is very efficient. It features direct and port fuel injection, all aluminum heads and block, four cams, four valves per cylinder and Lexus Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and electronic intake valve timing technologies (VVT-IE). This muscular engine joins forces with a stock 8-speed electronically controlled gearbox to deliver an EPA-estimated 16/24/19 mpg.
Even though the 2010 LS Lexus blows out 357 horses and 344 pound-foot of torque, it's still classified as an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV-II). That's nice to know in these long-overdue times of environmental preservation. The LS efficiently uses its big power, 0.26 aerodynamic drag coefficient and 11.8 :1 compression ratio to burn up tracks, from zero to 60 miles per hour, in just 5.4 seconds. It also tears up asphalt in the quarter mile with 13.9-second times. And don't forget the electronically limited top track speed of 130 miles per hour, more speed than any potential leadfoot possibly needs at his or her disposal.
Standard safety features for the Lexus LS 2010 include:
- The VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management) system that employs a high tech series of electronic sensors in order to anticipate skidding prior to the fact.
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist technologies help to keep your LS cruising safely in the center of the lane you select.
- Loads of standard airbags with the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) provide optimal accident protection.
- Directs Tire Pressure Monitoring is always checking individual tire air pressure levels to optimize fuel efficiency and safety.
- Electronic Brake Assist, active frontal head restraints and pre-collision sensors step in and help you maintain vehicular control in emergency driving situations.
Other Lexus LS standard safety features include:
- Anti lock brakes;
- Safety Connect emergency communications system;
- Lane Departure Warning;
- Driver Attention Monitor;
- Electronic power steering;
- Side-impact door beams;
- Reinforced crumple zone construction;
- And loads more...
And remember, all those standard safety features will save you loads of cash on effective automobile insurance.
On the inside of the feature-rich 2010 Lexus LS, you'll be treated to standard amenities for convenience, comfort and luxury including:
- Large-screen HDD navigation system;
- Powered moonroof;
- Luxurious seating with Lexus Memory System;
- Bluetooth wireless connectivity;
