Lexus LX

The first generation Lexus LX model was numbered the LX 450 and made its debut in 1996. It was a sports-utility vehicle which had four doors and derived its power from a 212 horsepower six cylinder 4.5 Liter engine. The LX 450 was a better looking Toyota Land Cruiser which had four-wheel drive. It was equipped with leather seats, automatic temperature controls and a very nice stereo system. The vehicle could seat seven passengers in three rows of seats that included two bucket seats in the front, a bench seat in the middle that sat three, and two seats in the back that could be folded. In 1997, no major changes were made to the vehicle.

The second generation Lexus LX made its debut with the numbering LX 470 in 1998. The vehicle derived its power from a 4.7 Liter V8 engine and had four-wheel drive. Its front suspension was independent and it was equipped with running boards on the outside, air conditioning in the back and a CD player located in the dashboard. In 1999, a top-notch stereo system manufactured by Nakamichi was added. In 2000 the LX was equipped with a system to control vehicle stability and a system that would apply hydraulic pressure on the brakes. The running boards on the outside were now lit and a sunroof that could be operated by the touch of a button was added. A stereo system manufactured by Mark Levinson, which had nine speakers was added in 2002. In 2003, airbags on the side were added as well as a gear system with five automatic gears. In 2004, a rear-view camera was added to the LX 470.

The third generation Lexus LS made its debut in 2008 numbered as LX 570. The company introduced it for the first time at the New York International Auto Show. It derives its power from a new 3UR-FE engine, which is rated at 381 horsepower. The new vehicle is longer and wider than its predecessor. It is equipped with leather seats, temperature control, and a fantastic stereo system with surround sound - including 19 speakers and a hard disk to store songs. The LX 570 is equipped with a system to help drivers park the vehicle, cameras planted on both sides of the vehicle that help the driver get over the blind spots, a fridge where one can store cold drinks and a navigation system.

2010 Lexus LX
Base MSRP pricing for the 2010 Lexus LX begins at $76,905. There will also be an $875 handling and processing fee on top of that. The XL is Lexus's top of the line luxury utility vehicle. Its engine is a 5.7L 90 degree V8 constructed with an aluminum block and heads. It has four separate cams, dual variable valve timing with intelligence, four valves for each cylinder and a compression ratio of 10.2 to 1. The LX can crank out 383 horses at 5600 RPM and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7.4 seconds flat. It also features 15.8-second quarter mile times and a top track speed of 137 miles per hour. The LX 570 engine works with a sequential shift electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission to generate 403 lb-ft of twist (@3600 RPM).

Like most of the company's lineup, the 2010 LX Lexus is a ULEV II certified vehicle. Ultra low emission vehicles help Lexus owners all over the planet to feel good about being green. The LX is estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency to deliver 12/18/14 mpg urban/rural/combined. more
