The 2010 Lincoln MKS is a carryover from last year when the car was totally redesigned. It is a full-sized luxury sedan that is comprehensively equipped to offer you the epitome of comfort, elegance and timesaving convenience. Leading its competition including the Acura TSX, the Ford Taurus, the Buick LaCrosse and the Volvo S40, the MKS employs newly developed technology that is blazing a trail towards the future for all luxury car design. Upon first seeing it, you may not think that it is nearly as exceptional as it turns out to be.
For starters, it features a wonderfully efficient 3.7L 273hp DOHC 24-valve V6 engine that delivers 17 MPG in the cities and 24 MPG on the highways. It produces 270 ft-lb of torque at 4250 RPM. It is married to a six speed automatic transmission that is electronically controlled to optimize shifting smoothness. Optionally, your new Lincoln MKS can be fitted with a 3.5L 355hp engine that twists out 350 ft-lb of torque at 3500 RPM. Either engine choice will offer you a 1000 pound maximum towing capacity.
The 2010 Lincoln MKS review reveals it as stylish and shows off its long list of elegant standard equipment. It fits in well with high class, prestigious atmospheric conditions. The Lincoln-first real-world, real-time electronic communications system is its main bragging point. It is designed to save you time. Time is what Lincoln designers consider the ultimate luxury. Voice-activated systems for audio control, navigation control, Serious Travel Link and more make operating the MKS simplistically efficient.
All information about inclement weather patterns developing, current and pending traffic jam situations, sports scores, movie listings, proximal gas stations and more are all available to you simply by speaking the proper commands. It has a sizable 8 inch display screen that eliminates any need for you to have to squint or strain to see it. In addition, you can watch high definition DVD movies accompanied by superior sound right on the touch-screen monitor. iPod connectivity is of course a given.
The standard front wheel drive configuration can be upgraded to an all-wheel drive platform for improved handling ability and increased driver confidence. When cruising, the Lincoln MKS is quite, smooth and a complete pleasure to inhabit. It's a long and muscular, but it does not perform well for those who like to drive hard. This is an automobile that's designed for comfort and long-term dependability - not racing. However, that doesn't mean that the engine doesn't provide plenty of ready power during takeoffs and/or passing situations. It's also very roomy - providing more than adequate spaciousness for all occupants.
The overall dimensions in the 2010 Lincoln MKS specifications are 204.1 x 75.9 x 61.6 (l, w, h). Its wheelbase measures 112.9 inches. And its 4151 pound curb weight is just heavy enough to make you feel solid and secure anywhere that you may find yourself driving. At $40,870, it is pricier than its competitors. However, given that it is also more technologically advanced, loaded with both standard and optional features and designed by time-tested-and-proven Lincoln engineers, many feel that is worth every penny spent. Welcome to the future of luxury cars.
