With an optional five-speed sport automatic transmission that features manual mode, the 2009 Mazda Mazda5 is a fuel-efficient crossover sport van that is also fun to drive.

Read about the practical and sporty 2008 Mazda Mazda5, with standard features including a 5-speed automatic transmission, it gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

With sport hatch performance, dual sliding doors, and precise Mazda engineering, the Mazda5 SUV is a dream come true for active families on the go.
The Mazda MAZDA5 debuted for the 2006 model year. Having been popular overseas for many years, this was the first time Mazda made a compact mini van available for sale and purchase in the United States. This affordably priced vehicle was notably smaller than any other available mini van in America and was designed to attract those who occasionally need the versatility and functionality of a mini van but also want an extremely fuel efficient and well equipped vehicle that is modest in price.
Although the compact mini van is smaller, it does seat six. However, the third row seat is not comfortable for most adults but does accommodate two children quite well. The second row of seats both slide and recline to increase passenger comfort and improve access to the third row.
Both the Sport and the Touring models are equipped with 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes, side airbags that cover all seating areas and 17 inch wheels. Both models are also powered forward with the same 2.3 liter, 4 cylinder engines that can be found in the MAZDA3 lineup . Although more than adequate for the small sedans and hatchbacks, the 157 horsepower delivered to the MAZDA5 by the same size engine does not seem adequate enough. Due to the increased size of the compact mini van, the same engine-unfortunately with reduced horsepower-tends to struggle slightly to pull hills and accelerates rather slowly. However, if you can live with the inconvenience of a little lag time and you don't plan on having the most powerful vehicle in town, you will the appreciate the initial affordability of this compact mini van as well as all the money you will save at the gas pumps with this fuel efficient vehicle. The 2006 models also included a variety of additional features and available options included a navigation system, sunroof and DVD entertainment center.
The 2007 model year saw the addition of the Grand Touring model to the lineup. The Grand Touring features Xenon headlights and heated leather upholstery to comfortably and clearly transport you, your passenger and cargo safely to your various destinations. Both the Sport and the Touring are now available with a choice of either a manual or automatic transmission, while the Grand Touring model is available with an automatic transmission only. All 2007 models are equipped with 17" wheels, remote key less entry, power side mirrors, and six airbags; steering wheel with audio controls that operate the AM/FM/CD stereo and second row under seat storage compartment. The added features of the Touring model include a moon roof, rear spoiler, fog lamps, automatic climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel and in dash 6 CD changer.
If you are looking for an economically priced vehicle with passenger space, reliability, safety, comfort and flexible interior cargo configurations with a dash of passionate 'zoom zoom', the Mazda MAZDA5 is probably the only vehicle you need to look at.
