MAZDASPEED has been recognized in Japan for years as the special race and performance oriented division of Mazda that manufacturers high performance cars in limited edition. For the 2007 model year, American automotive enthusiasts and consumers are treated to one of these distinctive and exhilarating vehicles with the introduction of the Mazda MAZDASPEED3. Only 5000 of this super sport compact car were made available for sale in the U.S. Drivers who are looking for a highly responsive and undeniably quick high performance compact at a very reasonable price will be more than satisfied with this lively, well engineered vehicle that seamlessly combines sport performance and daily practicality.

This vivacious four door hatchback is available in two trim levels - the Sport Hatchback and Grand Touring Hatchback. The same 2.3 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine and 6 speed manual transmission propels forth both the Sport and Grand Touring models and both are equipped with front wheel drive. The design of the Sport Hatchback is impressive and obviously displays that this car might share a similar platform, but this is not the typical Mazda3. The 18" wheels, wide stance, chrome exhaust tip, rear spoiler and athletically designed front and rear bumpers are a clear indication that this is a performance based compact car, intended for those who want to enjoy the ride. The Sport model also comes standard with fog lamps, cruise control, automatic climate control and a sporty interior that includes strategically placed bright red upholstery stitching and stainless steel accents. Although not exceptionally refined, the interior is roomy enough to accommodate 5 passengers and a fair amount of cargo. The only feature available that is not standard on the Sport model is a navigation system, which is available as an option on the Grand Touring model.

The Grand Touring model adds some safety, comfort and convenience features including leather seat bolsters, premium Bose audio system, LED taillights, HID headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a theft deterrent system. The only available option is the navigation system.

The real magnetism of the MAZDASPEED3 is its speed and performance capabilities. In addition it's very lively motor, stability and traction control, torque management system and limited slip differential all contribute to an invigorating driving experience. Although aggressive in terms of performance, this eye catching sport compact is relatively fuel efficient, affordable and practical for daily use.
