2010 Pontiac G3 Review

2010 Pontiac G3 Review

The 2010 Pontiac G3 carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $14,275. It is a subcompact hatchback that has been designed to compete with the Honda Fit, the Chevrolet Aveo, the Scion xD and the Kia Soul. It is not meant for power, but for practicality and fuel efficiency. With standard seating for five adults and a surprising amount of cargo space, the G3 hatchback has an EPA estimated fuel efficiency rating of 27/34 MPG city/highway.

The engine that comes with the new G3 from Pontiac is a 1.6L 106hp 105 lb-ft inline four cylinder that is joined up to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maximum horsepower is achieved at 6400 RPM while maximum torque is reached at 4000 RPM. With its 12 gallon capacity fuel tank, combined with such appreciable gas mileage, you'll be able to travel almost 400 miles in between stops at the gas station.

$14,275 is not a lot of money for a brand new vehicle these days. Standard features for comfort and convenience on the new Pontiac G3 include air conditioning, exterior mirrors that are the color of the body, 14 inch wheels, bucket seats in the front made of cloth, power steering and more. Standard safety features include fog lights, tire pressure monitoring and airbags for the driver and the front passenger both in the front and sides. The 2010 G3 is a carryover from last year with minimal changes made.

This new G3 from Pontiac is classified as a subcompact vehicle. Still, it is surprisingly spacious. Vehicular dimensions are 155 inches x 66.1 inches x 59.3 inches in length, width and height. Its sharp looking body rides on top of a wheelbase that measures 97.6 inches. And that very impressive fuel mileage is delivered in part because the curb weight of the G3 is only 2546 pounds. A single trim is available for your purchase: the Base 4-Door Hatchback.

15 cubic feet of luggage space and 37.2 cubic feet of maximum cargo space is available in the new Pontiac G3. That's more than some luxury midsized SUVs can offer without folding their seats down. You can zip in and out of even the tightest parking spaces and maneuver easily with the small 16.4 foot turning radius. And all the while, you can enjoy a 39 inches of headroom, 54 inches of shoulder room and 52 inches of hip room if you're sitting in the front of the vehicle.

The 2010 Pontiac G3 presents you with a very affordable option for a quality vehicle that delivers excellent fuel efficiency, an impressive standard warranty package, appreciable levels of safety and a fun and comfortable ride.
