Pontiac G6

The Pontiac G6 surfaced in 2005 as a midsized car. It was first unveiled as a concept vehicle at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. The G6 was equipped with 20 inch tires and a supercharged engine with 285 horsepower. When it was launched in 2005, it replaced the Pontiac Grand Am. Its front-wheel drive design was the same as the Chevrolet Malibu. On introduction, it came in two versions - entry level and GT. Both versions were powered by a 200 horsepower V6 engine with a four speed automatic transmission. They were equipped with disc brakes in all four tires, traction control and power pedals. Optional on the entry level version were front side and curtain airbags. On the GT, optional were leather seats and the OnStar assistance system. Other options that were available were a satellite radio, keyless start-up and a sunroof. The Pontiac G6 added a few additions to its lineup in 2006. There was a coupe and a convertible whose roof could be open and closed with the touch of a button. Also added to the lineup is a sedan that is powered by a 167 horsepower four cylinder engine. The GTP coupe and convertibles had a 240 horsepower V6 engine and six speed automatic transmission. In 2007, the GT sedan and coupe came with a new 224 horsepower 3.5 Liter V6 engine and the convertible came with the same engine which was rated at 201 horsepower.

In 2008, the Pontiac G6 sedan comes in four versions - an entry level value leader, base model, GT and GXP. The Coupe is available in GT or GXP versions, while the convertible only comes in the GT version. The value leader and G6 sedans are powered by a 164 horsepower 2.4 Liter engine with four cylinders. While the GT version of the sedan is equipped with a 3.5 V6 engine that is rated at 217 horsepower, the convertibles have the same engine but have a horsepower rating of 217. The GXP models are equipped with a 252 horsepower 3.6 Liter engine. The value leader version is equipped with 16 inch tires, air conditioning, a driver's seat that can be adjusted in four ways manually and a CD player. The G6 version is equipped with 17 inch tires, cruise control and keyless entry. The GT is equipped with a leather steering wheel and Monsoon stereo system which has a subwoofer, satellite radio and eight speakers. The GXP is equipped with 18 inch tires, temperatures inside the car that are controlled automatically, driver's seat that can be adjusted in eight different ways automatically and heated front seats.
