2008 Saturn Outlook Review

The 2008 Saturn Outlook is a four-door SUV with room for up to eight passengers. It's available in four trim levels in an MSRP range of $27,605 to $31,905. All are powered with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 270 horsepower on the XEs (both FWD and AWD) and 275 hp on the XRs. Expect to get 16 mpg around town in the XEs and 24 out on the highway; 16 and 18 respectively for the XRs. The transmission is a six-speed automatic with overdrive and auto-manual.

New options for the coming model year include the FWD and AWD choices, Panic Brake Assist, remote start, park assist, and a rear backup camera. Expect a comprehensive array of six airbags standard. (A stability system, however, is optional.) Even tall people can sit comfortably in the third row. In the second row you can opt for a bench or dual captain's chairs. Either way you can use Smart Slide to move the seating forward to improve access to the third row.

The 2008 Saturn Outlook is a strong competitor for comparable vehicles like the 2008 Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, or Ford Freestyle. Reviewers have reacted well to the smoothness of the SUVs acceleration and the overall comfort and solid nature of its ride. Saturn has a reputation for sound engineering and the Outlook lives up to that legacy. The SUV is available in nine colors including Midnight Blue, Cream White, Cocoa, Garnet, Red Jewel, Silver Pearl, Gold Mist, Carbon Flash, and Ocean Mist.
