2009 Saturn VUE Hybrid Review

The 2009 Saturn VUE Hybrid breaks ground with its impressive fuel economy, contemporary styling, and affordable price. The VUE Hybrid is a carryover from the prior model year. Featuring a two-mode hybrid engine, the VUE Hybrid is at the forefront of the green auto movement. Stocked with the latest in safety features, the model is a great pick for families with children. The Saturn VUE Hybrid is for the buyer who doesn't believe that style should be sacrificed for environmental friendliness.

Under the hood, this 2009 Hybrid is equipped with a 2.4L two-mode I4 that can produce up to 172 horsepower and 167-lbs per foot of torque. The two-mode engine can function with only electricity, only gasoline, or a combination of both. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, power rack and pinion steering, and a battery saver are all standard on the model as well. An auxiliary power outlet is located in the rear cargo area for easy access also. The four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission features an overdrive mode, while the independent multi-link suspension ensures a smoother ride. The VUE is also available with a 255 horsepower 3.6L V6 hybrid engine.

, the Saturn VUE Hybrid is fully stocked with up-to-date technological features like a one-year subscription to OnStar, CD changer with MP3 compatibility, and automatic climate control. The OnStar program includes roadside assistance, personal calling capabilities, remote door unlock, and emergency response services. It allows drivers to rest assured knowing that, in the event of an accident; there will always be a response from law enforcement or emergency services because of OnStar's instant accident alerts.

The VUE's safety features range from full airbag protection for all five passengers to seatbelt height adjusters that can accommodate smaller individuals or children in carseats. Power programmable door locks, keyless remote entry, and a rollover sensor are standard as well. The sensor helps prevent a rollover by correcting steering and stabilizing the SUV. All-speed traction control further assists with keeping the model firmly on the road too.

Overall, the 2009 Saturn VUE Hybrid is a perfect pick for families with children and individuals looking for an eco-friendly alternative to the typical SUV. With 25 city MPG and 32 highway MPG, the Saturn VUE Hybrid does not beat the Ford Escape Hybrid, but still gets impressive gas mileage while emitting fewer pollutants into the environment. Not only that, priced at around $26,995, the VUE Hybrid won't put too large of a dent in buyers' pockets.
