2009 Scion tC Review

The 2009 Scion tC is a very well equipped coupe from Japanese automaker, Scion, the direct offspring of Toyota. The "tC' stands for "touring coupe" and people love these cars because they are completely customizable and offer the high levels of quality common to the Toyota name. The tC is a fun-to-drive vehicle that is moderately priced and offers excellent durability and dependability to owners.

The 2009 tC has undergone several changes from the previous year's version. They are made with driving pleasure, safety, fuel efficiency and boatloads of options in mind. The tC comes stock with a 4-cylinder 2.4L 161hp engine and an optional automatic 4-speed transmission that deliver an appreciable 29 mpg on the highway. Offering substantial power, the tC drives in smooth, comfortable style. It steers and handles very well and offers excellent stopping power from its 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Scion's Electronic Brake Force Distribution system.

Safety ratings for both drivers and passengers are excellent and airbags are everywhere to ensure safety to all occupants. All materials used in the manufacturing processes are of high quality and the front bucket seats are very comfortable and feature position memory controls. Scion tC owners also love the 160-watt AM/FM/CD/mp3 Pioneer stereo system that features connectors for Apple iPods and a bass-thumping subwoofer. And, of course, the latest NAV systems are optionally available.

2009 tC is a 2-door sport coupe that has a very sporty hatchback rear end. There are four seats and plenty of room even for tall passengers. The base model has a MSRP of $17,000 with the manual 5-speed tranny and $17,800 with the 4-speed automatic option. Those prices greatly please buyers especially when they learn about all of the features included. Scion engineers truly went the extra mile and the company is making big waves by delivering these pleasurable coupes that hold their value excellently.

The front end has undergone the most extensive changes and is now sporting three distinctively different, diagonally-positioned lamps and amber-colored turn signals. The same diagonal idea is taken to the rear lamps as well. The 17-inch alloy wheels with 6 spokes have been included again in the 2009 model with 18 and 19 inch wheels available as options. The wheel wells are exaggerated to accommodate them as they are a very popular option. Long doors make entry simple even for the rear passengers.

The sunroof is huge and offers a panoramic views for both front and rear passengers. There are no gaskets in the design and the glass used eliminates 100% of infrared rays to keep occupants from exposure. Overall, the 2009 Scion tC offers a lot for the money and delivers plenty of power, comfort and dependability. Owners are very pleased and Scion continues to build customer loyalty like few other automakers can. The style, quality and high standards of design are very evident from every view. The Scion tC is a definite hit.
