At $14,800, the 2010 Scion xD presents real value. It may be little, but it is efficient, practical and presents loads of personality. It was a brand new vehicle back in 2008 and carries over this year with more choices for personalization than ever before. There are literally dozens of available components that can be dealer-installed at your command.
Don't let the small size of the Scion xD for 2010 full you though. There's a surprising amount of space inside. With its box-like roofline and swollen hood, it offers you plenty of headroom and comfort. Although it is not made for NFL players, four medium-sized adults fit nicely within. Even on long journeys, all occupants will not feel claustrophobic. A particularly interesting feature of the Scion xD is its versatile rear seat. It is able to recline, glide forward and fold flat to accommodate passengers and cargo in a variety of configurations. Maximum cargo volume is measured at 35.7 cubic feet.
The 2010 xD from Scion is also strong competitor for the 2010 Honda Insight in style and practicality. With its short overhangs and poised stance, it suggests its abilities to handle with impressive agility. Open the hood to witness a very efficient 1.8L 128hp 125 lb-ft I4 engine that delivers 27 miles per gallon of fuel in the cities and 33 on the highways. This front wheel drive cruising machine also features a fuel saving 5-speed manual transmission and an 11.1 gallon fuel tank. There is an automatic transmission available optionally, but it is reported to be the weak link in the xD design.
Nimble performance can be counted on while driving the Scion xD as well. It obeys commands from the accelerator and steering wheel quite responsibly. And although ride quality is not equivalent to that of a new BMW, it is at least adequate in most driving situations. The engine revs freely and gets you where you're going in ready style. This 2010 Scion also comes with an impressive list of standard features including a powerful Pioneer stereo system, loads of power features and a well working air conditioner. It also leads its class in standard safety features. Frontal, side-mounted and side curtain airbags are all included. An additionally, the anti lock braking system is designed with impressive sophistication. And it's also worth noting that electronic stability control is offered optionally - something that the other cars in its class do not offer at all.
Competing with the Mini Cooper, the Chevrolet Aveo, the Kia Soul and the Pontiac G3, the 2010 Scion xD presents a worthy challenge. This four-door hatchback provides excellent fuel economy, very appreciable safety features, sporty looks and agile handling. It's definitely worth your further consideration.
